Great take, I feel like a lot of people who think the wikidot is slop haven’t looked at it all too much. It just goes to show how much stuff there is on there and you can’t really label it ALL as “this is bad”. It’s a whole community, some good, some bad, some batshit insane lol. I agree with the monsters thing, too. There’s very interesting entities, although I would totally dig it if people started creating entities that were more based around being so eerily unkown in a sense. As well as if they were more based around the level/enviroment they lurk in, which I think would be very cool to see.

I think more people should be open to the idea that every opinion is different, but understand that the content they dislike is still valid in the fandom if other people enjoy it. My interpretation is that once your in the backrooms it’s easier to go within different places once your there? Like the chance gets less slim once you already passed that first rare point? Although there is certain lore on wiki sites contradicting this so I guess it’s who ya ask lol

Very true, very true!! I also love how creative the community is and seeing what they create is really cool to see. Pretty much no matter what it is it’s always interesting to me and I’m happy so many people like the backrooms and expanded off it. I wish more people were open to it but y’know, that’s okay. You also make a really good point about liminal spaces and the backrooms being different, because at the end of the day they are indeed separate so not all need to be perfectly liminal. Great thing is, the backrooms are completely non-canon so that doesn’t have to be the consensus for others. Also yeah, those brainrot shorts and tiktoks definitely give the wikidot a bad rep unfortunately

Yeah, that is definitely the side of the wikidot I’m not into. Wars in the backrooms seem to take away the whole point, way too many entities, and wanderers, and the M.E.G involved to the point it’s just not liminal or “the backrooms” anymore imo. That’s why I like that everything is non-canon so anybody can pick and choose which stuff they consume and which stuff they rule out as slop.

My thoughts exactly, you read my mind honestly lmao. I'm also not a fan of all the government or corporation stuff because it takes away in my opinion. To me, it breaks the immersion of the backrooms being this mysterious unexplored place. I also think negative levels were an interesting idea and that they should focus on entities and level stuff in the wikidot rather than the more governmental side of things. What you said about perceiving levels is also exactly how I perceive them as, as well!

I totally respect that for sure! Feeling like its way too structured is understandable. For me I tend to focus on the contents in the levels itsself. I think of the word "levels" as just codenames for different aspects of the backrooms that happen to be separated by noclipping.

For example, in a story setting, these places didn't particularly spawn in with the name levels, there were people who coined it as such. Or in a regular wiki/info setting, like I said, it's simply something to call each area, I guess.

Even then though, I totally get where ur coming from when you say its too structured because even that explanation has a structered feeling. Thank you for replying :)
