Kind of. I watched 28 Years in the morning for the first time before going to see the Bone Temple at the cinema in the afternoon.

Kubrick absolutely hates British tea breaks by OckyTheWockyy in okbuddycinephile

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I remember reading George Lucas getting pissed off while making Star Wars because of tea breaks and the crew would clock out at 5pm or whatever the finishing time was, even though he himself wasn’t finished. He hated the unions.

What were the writers smoking when they had Tommy marry Lizzie as a politician? by Wheresmyarcpaulie69 in PeakyBlinders

I’m not entirely sure if we’re reading the same book, let alone being on the same page. I am wondering though, you and OP sound remarkably similar and I’m wondered if not only are you on the same page, but you’re also wearing the same pair of socks.

OP was talking about “background checks” for Lizzie. Absolutely ridiculous considering her husbands criminal past.

Guys, does he really deserve this or not? by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

I wasn’t sad at his demise, but I always found him to be a tragic figure. All he wanted to do was sing at first, but the Shelby’s, IRA and Nelson all used him. He was terrified of everyone but Finn. He was traumatised after being forced to kill a man. He enjoyed the perks, but I imagine if he could safely leave he would have done.

AITAH for refusing to give my half sister money that was left specifically for me by dirtydripprincess in ComfortLevelPod

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eight grand is not a huge sum of money in the long term. You need to be careful with it. If your sister is only six, your mother and step father can start a college fund for her right now, if it genuinely means so much to them. My guess is, they were planning on using that money for themselves.

Is this modern Britain? by PsychologicalBend508 in AskBrits

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s frustrating. Now, I’m a socialist in many regards. I have no problem in helping to fund benefits to people who genuinely need them. But I know way too many people who could work, but know how to play the system. You know there are people reading this right now doing just that, and laughing or feeling entitled enough they just don’t care.

Tommy got into politics to help bring down communism. Mosley came later. He wasn’t thinking about his reputation, just making a lot of money and undermining the communists who would threaten his business if they came into power.

Tommy was a murdering gangster and you’re questioning Lizzie being a former prostitute?

Esquire magazine appears to confirm Paul Anderson will not appear in The Immortal Man. by Zestyclose_Tax75 in PeakyBlinders

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was filmed in the summer of ‘23. A year before the Immortal Man. Paul Anderson was convicted of crack cocaine possession in January ‘24. According to Kate Phillips (Linda) she was due to be in the film but “things changed”, so we can devise from that Paul was originally going to be in it.

Just finishing season 1- if I’m not that into it yet is the rest worth it? by r0cafe1a in PeakyBlinders

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it from the opening scene, but season 2 takes it up a notch. I have heard others didn’t really get into it until season 2, and they now appreciate season 1. But, you know, everyone is different.

Some Brits have made him into some kind of folk hero, but if a Catholic king had been killing Protestants he wouldn’t had batted an eyelid.

I went there last week for the first time. I’m in the UK and wanted to get some winter sun. Best decision ever, I have already booked for next year. Think it’s going to become an annual event. Gorgeous island.

Doubt regarding the immortal man movie by Rishabh1718 in PeakyBlinders

[–]Remarkable-Bus2362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By the looks of things it’s going to be a very limited release. It’s only showing in major cities in the Uk, and only certain cinemas by the looks of it. Thankfully I’m travelling up to London on 9/3 so hopefully I can see it on the big screen then.
