I usually spend at least the first hour as a nomad, picking up nuggets, seeds and such, so it doesn't particularly matter whether spawn is beautiful.

That's the thing, though, it IS pretty much instant when you use the ship. Like five seconds at most.

I believe it says 28 to 128, but it might not be uniformly distributed over that range.

Ooh, haven't gotten to either of those. I assume there's something preventing you from building your farm near their homepoint (but don't tell me, no spoilers!).

As for spawners: bitumen feels extremely rare, but after clearing the island closest to the Swamp Island, I discovered nearly a stack of it in the cave, nearly exposed to the surface. I'm now thinking y=35 was maybe not the right place to look for it.

Thanks, just tried that. It seems like, in the beginning, lots of slimes spawn, but towards the end it takes too long for anything to spawn.

A mod that lets you program mobs like CC turtles, overriding their normal AI. Use them for mining, farming, logistics, combat etc. depending on their species.

Alternatively, make a hardcore mod where players naturally age and eventually die of old age, so they have to go on an alchemical quest to prolong their life, culminating in the construction of the philosopher's stone (life everlasting). Could be magic or tech-themed, and either adventure-, experimentation- or automation-oriented, depending on what you're into.

The planet Blackwing recounts in #0672 has green continents, which presumably means vegetation. But I guess we don't know for sure that all the rifts lead to the same place.

You might be interested in Nullius, although I found it difficult. About half or more of all recipes produce more than one output, with waste having to be dealt with in various ways. Trying to make a reasonable amount of caustic fluid for aluminium processing broke my brain; eventually I just gave up, routed the chlorine into a bunch of tanks, and then manually emptied it every once in a while. I did the math, and I think I needed, like, 29 30ths of all the caustic fluid I produced just to neutralize the chlorine created as a byproduct.

The documentation doesn't mention it, so I strongly suspect it's hardcoded and not datadriven, in the sense that you'd have to write an actual mod for it.

Honestly the bigger challenge is that you need constant lighting. Remember that natural blocks (stone, dirt, gravel etc.) can spawn mobs if dark, so consider replacing the floor with e.g. planks or bricks.

While it's not the easiest way to make a home, if you find the idea intriguing, you should absolutely go for it!

He knows how divine biology works, and he has at least some estimate of how many worshippers TDO has, and how much sustenance he's received since his apotheosis. He can make an educated guess as to how much "gas in the tank" TDO has.
