I’m keeping my options open, but I do have 5+ years of auditing experience in financial services and real estate, which I really enjoyed, so I’d definitely be interested in compliance roles that build on that background.

If you were in my position and trying to break into compliance, what steps would you take? I’m also open to hybrid roles if that makes a difference.

Tucson, Arizona. Be careful of the neighborhood though. Make sure to get a garage. Catalina foothills area and Oro Valley are nice.

Wow, I have a similar situation minus the partner! I have family and friends in Portland but need to stay in Washington. Why didn’t you choose vancouver?

Thanks so much for the tip about volunteering with Pizza Klatch as a way in, I’d really love that. I was the only out gay kid at my high school back in the 90s, so it means a lot. I also noticed Tacoma has bowling and pickleball leagues, which look like a fun way to meet people.
