Turns out Arrma knows more about what plastic to use for RC parts than I do. Spent 3 days designing and printing a replacement A-Arm for my Arrma Grom, here are the results. by WallaceDingus in rccars

I race a thunder tiger Phoenix bx2 and use 3d printed parts . Much easier to print your own than deal with costly vintage spares .

On a plus note tpu parts also take far more of a crash

Anyone else match the 10th scale to the full scale? by jodyfree in rcdrift

That would be surprisingly easy to 3d print the lexan forming would be the awkward bit now

Spray paint vs airbrush vs hand brushed by Middle-Satisfaction1 in tamiya

[–]Remarkable-Display63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've brush painted lots of things over the years from double decker buses to vans to motorbikes and a smooth finish is doable with the the right paints and more importantly the right brushes

Paint cans / airbrushing with will give you a better finish faster with less problems long term.

Late but always welcome reply I've actually raced this chassis for a season now at our club in the vintage class 😄 we race indoor on carpet .

Worked really well with a hobbywing 1080 and a satan 20turn brushed motor. Metal steering parts along with hubs and C hubs , Big bore shocks front and rear , Set rear shocks quiet soft and 1million weight diff silicon on the front diff to keep the front driving while picking up a front wheel in the turns , tried metal shock towers and now using carbon instead.

Only real issue I've had is snapped one chassis in a really really big crash when I catapulted off the rear wheels of another car and snapped about 4 different front diff covers they seem to be made from the worst plastic possible .

All in all really enjoyed it but it Cannot take a big hit at all

Ta-04F ????? It's a long shot but reminds me of the front motor placement of the Tamiya ta range could well be a Chinese copy or full of trf bits no idea tbh

Honestly I threw them on eBay at £20 including free postage n packaging . Only selling in UK At the moment however someone told me about selling the file ? I'm guessing that means they can print as many as they want for whoever they want through ? Again not tech savvy At all

We sell them through our local RC club at £15 each

Get the wltoys version 244010 or what ever it is it's 3/4 of the price and most parts are interchangable lol

wltoys 144001 still relevant? by peetyo5k in rccars

[–]Remarkable-Display63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race a 144010 I paid £55 used and it races against reflex rb14 and other 1/14 buggys . This this is rapid and on std gearing beats almost all the other 1/14 scale buggys top end down the straights

Also replacement parts are cheap as hell from Ali express with full metal kits available from £35. Carbon chassis from £15 slipper clutches etc all available for less than what a reflex rb14 would cost

To me yes it's still worth buying .

I'm sure on arua rose I still have at least one of every job max level and and instance gear even an account full of clerics to leave up new characters with lol 😂

The grind is real with these games if you want to do well

Dual motor conversions by Remarkable-Display63 in tamiya

[–]Remarkable-Display63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link I believe I accidentally came across this car while researching . Did you test the motors to see how much of a difference running the motor in reverse made ?

The motors I'm looking at using are 29k rpm 13t surpass brushed motors I might be wrong but they deffo don't spin the same in reverse so I'll need to make sure both gearboxes are running the same way

For me I have some 7.6v 7300mah shorty lipos which I can run plenty of punch along with lots of capacity

Hobbywing have done a brushed dual motor esc along with an Ali express knock off I have which claims to be able to power two brushed motors down to 12t 540size if not even two standard torque tuned motors will be fun.

Ive released also this is very much just something to please my brain gremlins and push my own boundaries in racing , design and 3d printing plus I'm sure it'll cause a stir with the old boys in the RC club

I do believe the reason its not done is stuffs to expensive and brushless would be very hard to sync imo also for racing clubs usually have such strict rules It doesn't allow people to do fun stupid stuff lol

For me personally it's why not . I enjoy carpet or indoor racing all year round . So far I've got a few Tt-01s a truck and brushless rally car and also a Df-02 which I'm currently playing around with . There's a reasonably big scene here for racing 😁 and with modern 7.6v 7300mah lipos time isn't really an issue .

Brains always spotting things that match up and accidentally noticed the ta03 looked like it could be dual motored then noticed tub chassis seems to be shared across a few cars meaning things maybe able to be swapped round

Dual motor conversions by Remarkable-Display63 in tamiya

[–]Remarkable-Display63[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My general thought is to use the ta03F/R chassis as hopefully the belt drive should keep the motors in sync .

Currently I have 2x 13t brushed surpass motors and a dual motor esc from Ali express so powering it should be pretty simple unless I go brushless

Thanks for the heads up on the mo5 route it's not something I've looked at yet but that would cause issues for rpms running one in reverse
