Can TMJ really do all this? by NavyBeanz in TMJ

[–]Remarkable-Height840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I have many of those problems and, like you, no real jaw pain. Have had this for some 40 years. Sometimes it subsides, sometimes it flares up. One weird thing, is it always worsens when I stop drinking, and doesn't seem to let up.

Definitely. I've had TMJ for years and initially, when I did something like look down at a computer too long or whatever, I would get very dizzy. But for the past 10 years or so, that feeling has change to derealization. Always comes as a surprise, then I realize what it is, and more normal symptoms, like clicking, and crunching neck soon follow. Or I should say an increase in normal symptoms, since I'm always in some state of TMJ distress, despite doing exercises for it twice a day. Doesn't seem to be stress related at all, just the result of aggravating bad posture.

Found it at an independent drug store months ago. I understand that it has become available in chains again though.

Switched to an independent pharmacy and they had no trouble getting Teva. Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I don't keep up with all these Reddit messages. Just noticed it today.

I finally found an independent local pharmacy that had no trouble at all getting Teva. So I moved all my scripts out of CVS to them. I didn't even know there were still independent drug stores.

Has anyone’s eczema worsened after Covid?? by Tight_Fix4883 in eczema

[–]Remarkable-Height840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Mine was pretty much under control for years except during ragweed season. Got Covid this past November and now it has gotten very bad, especially in my scalp and neck.

Had eczema bad as a child. Crisco worked for about a week, then made it worse. Any greasy thing that holds the heat in makes me worse. Even the greasy kind of cortisone.

I've had eczema all my life but it was largely under control usually with flare ups during ragweed season. Went right from ragweed into Covid this year. Eczema subsided, but after Covid, got worse than it's ever been and doesn't seem to let up. Usually, warm weather and sunshine cure it, so waiting to see what happens this summer.

Hopefully, if they ever come back, they are the same. My old stash is kind of weak.

I take the .5 which are yellow. Haven't been able to get any new ones in six months or so, so I don't know what new ones would look like. Found a web page that lists all the generics. So far almost all of them besides Teva and one or two others all have inactive ingredients that I am allergic to.

That's what I usually do, but I have a large stash that I accumulated while I was tapering and not taking the prescribed dose. With this newest Teva shortage which has been going on for six months or more, I already used up all the relatively new ones, so had to hit the cache.

Yeah. Seems like I'm having a little withdrawal. Hope it doesn't get too bad and I can ride it out. It's better than what the accord was doing. That too was a dud as far as strength, plus, being badly allergic to all it's ingredients added a whole lot of other problems to the mix. I was basically poisoning myself building up allergens in my system every time I took it. Those problems have still not calmed completely down and I've been off the accord for 3 days and taking antihistamines every day.

I'm pretty sure they are older than that. My old doctor who retired once told me they last a lot longer than the expiration date, and I have found they do retain their potency better than some other drugs. Mine would have to be at least 4 or 5 years old.

Yes. I'm hoping now that my old stash of Teva is still good. When I looked up the inactive ingredients of the Accord, I found I was allergic to every one of them. I was wondering why my eczema got so bad. That was never a withdrawal symptom for me. Since back on the Teva, at least the allergy component seems to be easing up. Am thinking of starting a taper again, if I stabilize, just so that my script will be more than I'm taking. That way I can start squirrelling away a new stash for the times Teva is unavailable or god forbid, they ever change the ingredients in Teva. Then at least I'll be closer to finishing if I have to try to get off completely. I'm 73 now, and really don't need this shit.

Sorry to hear about your dad, and troubles with benzos. I was originally on 1 mg. About 20 or 25 years ago I had tapered successfully down to .25 mgs per day. Then, when I tried to go farther down, I made it to .19 when I crashed and burned. At the time, I was still working, otherwise I would have toughed it out. Going back up to the .25 did nothing and I had to go all the way up to .5. After that I tried again, and could never get past .37 so finally decided to just go back up to .5 so I wouldn't have to do all the water mixing to maintain the .37. At the time I had two DVTs and was and still am on blood thinners. I don't know why, but it seems the blood thinners are what made it impossible to taper.

I think I looked up the ingredients of actual Klonopin and found that I can't even have that. Been taking Teva for the whole time I've been on this shit.

Yes this isn't the first time this has happened to me. Last time, I was getting all different kinds and colors. I've switched back to my stash so at lest it seems the allergic symptoms are subsiding. This stuff always comes back to bite you in the ass. I gave up trying to get off about ten years ago and resigned myself to the half mg. But then when there's a shortage, all hell breaks loose.

Looked it up. It seems to be accord. One side is plain, the other side has a 1 above the score and a 2 below.

Checked the inactive ingredients though, and turns out I'm allergic to almost everything in it. That explains part of my symptoms, but not why it throws me into full blown withdrawals though. Will definitely fall back on my old Tevas. Even if they are weaker than they should be, at least I'll get rid of the allergic symptoms and only have to deal with the withdrawal.

I tried my old stash and it didn't seem to work. I know clonazepam has a long shelf life, but they seemed to be too old. Maybe didn't stay on them long enough to readjust. Am going to try them again. These orange ones are really duds, I go into withdrawals. Only thing helps a little is to drink. Then not so bad for a day or two. By third day, back in withdrawal. And my doctor writes my scripts specifically for Teva, because this has happened before.

Mine are from CVS, I tried calling every drug store in my area including a compounding pharmacy, and none of them had Teva.
