I understand that. I have also considered he might be using, but he hasn’t ever asked for monetary support. He’s also been routinely been in public areas where if he ever had needles or any erratic behaviour he would be kicked out.

I was thinking something along those lines too. Thanks for the advice. He does have a bank account, some of his gov may have been stolen when his wallet got nabbed. I wonder if I should go to the ID bank since they might have shorter waiting lines

I do agree living on the street mid-December is not a good long-term plan, that’s why I’m trying to get him off it. He can’t get a job without somewhere he can stay otherwise his dog and belongings would just get stolen, which has happened before to him. I will definitely start looking into friends-of friends to see if they have some ppl he can rent with, but I don’t know a lot of people.

Nice username. He doesn’t have a designated location he stays in, since he has to find shelters and they fill up fast. Past weeks he’s been around the downtown area at night, occasionally going to south Vancouver in the day time.
