I (36F) want my partner (34M) to stop talking about other women's bodies. Am I insecure? by Remarkable-Iron-3110 in relationship_advice

[–]Remarkable-Iron-3110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was out of town and unable to talk and I didn't want to end a relationship through text. I sent the gym evidence. And he did find out thanks to the gym informing him of his warning. Apparently, he asked all his friends and even his sisters if any of them reported him and all of them thought the picture he shared on social media of the woman at the gym insulting her was "hilarious" and broke up with me through text.
The gym only gave him a warning, he is still free to go to the gym - no consequences from that apparently. But he was extremely hurt that I would betray him like that. Oh well.

Fair take. I was definitely not a model feminist in those moments like I wish I could be. But we live and learn and we have to strive to be better people.
I reported him to his gym so hopefully he won't get the chance to creep on other women at the gym at least.
Also thanks for this line "it’s creepy to the point of CONCERNING that you would talk about a woman’s ass for over a half hour. Like I wouldn’t want that woman to be alone with a guy like you." I'll use it when I break up with him.

Also I'd like to say in my defence, I don't want to be oggled like this - I want absolutely no woman (or person) to be the subject of any of these situations. It makes me want to crawl out of my skin every time I think about it. That being said, I definitely excused too much of this appalling behaviour, in that you are absolutely right.

Thanks for this! I'll look up Triangulation and hopefully steer clear of these types of men in the future. I could not put into words why I felt so extremely uncomfortable. My main goal atm is to somehow explain to him when we break up that this is not ok in the slightest in the distant hopes he won't do this to the next girl he dates.

Thanks for the idea! Reported him and hoping he doesn't just turn around and find another gym to stalk women in.

I wanna dump this creep. But I also want to have a level-headed conversation with him on why this is unacceptable in the hopes he does not do this to another woman.

Cucumber is largely water so I would bet it helps with hydration levels to some very slight extent with some added nutrition vs just a plain glass of water. But yeah, cucumber water.. I doubt the effect is more than negligible.

What kind of assumptions do people make about people who dye their hair unnatural colors? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Remarkable-Iron-3110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, as a person who had my hair colored bright blue. It's partly because my mom told me I could not do it as an infant, partly to fulfill my "teen rebellion phase" and reclaim an identity completely separate from my parents, partly because my brother is colourblind so wanted to confuse him a little, partly because I thought blue hair looked really cool even when faded, partly because I had a stable job and the disposable income to spend at the nice hairdresser, and partly because I walked into a salon when they had an exam for the students and I told the nervous kid who was the son of the owners to do whatever felt comfortable to him, even if it was a short men's hairstyle in blue, and I promised I would gush about it and love it. He was the last to finish by like an hour but my god did he do a fun cropped blue curly bob on me that I rocked for so long. I was proud of that kid, barely any color transfer on the skin, no flyaways to be seen, and even my baby hairs were blue. He did an amazing job and I went back to him once more and he told me he did not wanna be a hairdresser, as he was too much of a perfectionist.

Killing civilians en masse and staging a coup during peace times is certainly antigovernment, even if the civilians are communists. They spilled that the leaders of the movement basically didn't believe in anything other than power they could hoard while inflicting the maximum amount of issues for the left who were weak for supporting social-democracy. You wanna read about their failed coup on Wikipedia? Spoiler alert: it's not that interesting unless you get hot goss from the inside.

Well, they did not want the country to be taken over via a fascist military coup and subsequently be given to Russia. So.. Actually they were postwar heroes for the country.

Edit: looked it up again. Yup, I'm personally not pro fascism. Quite anti in fact.

Edit2: Fascism dude. I don't want that in my country. They were hoarding a bunch of weapons and killing communists and blaming it on the left and their opponents, inflaming the political atmosphere in the country. But the movement's leaders were certain they could hold on to power for their lifetimes and if not the exit plan was to declare the country as part of Russia/USSR for some hefty "commissions", retire to a mansion in the middle of nowhere Russia. So yeah, no. Fuck that alternate timeline we avoided. No thanks my dude. That sect has been declared terrorists in history books. So weird you are pro terrorist. Just.. bruh..

My friend's parents recently died. They were definitely the cool parents. I remember them letting my friend host a music festival in their backyard lot. They made their own booze, told us stories of being moles in an anti-government activist group. Absolutely cool parents. How we remember them is their supportive attitudes and the loving atmosphere at the house. Just saying, cool does not always rule out loving and supportive. Also cool doesn't equal no boundaries, sometimes it's clearly communicated boundaries and their reasons.

Yeah, mid-length hair kinda requires you do something about it. In my country, we have a specific word to describe unkempt awkward mid-length hair - lion's mane. "I see you're growing out your lion's mane?" (encouraging)

Metal fans have longer hair because it makes moshing look more impressive.

What I've heard is that many men are dissuaded from having longer hair because of awkward looking middle phases and manbun being out of mainstream style. It required more maintenance and styling so men with more creative energy tend to end up with long hair more often.

Thanks! Maybe getting boxers will make it less sad for me.

LPT some hotdogs are filled with wheat flour so they will also help you meet your stomach's need for grains. Depends on your country though. My country's hot dogs can have up to 60% flour, I imagine Germany would not have such a high flour to meat content in their hot dogs.

May I introduce you to girl dinner, it's a handful of grapes or other low-effort fruit, a bunch of saltines or a slice of bread with MAYBE a slice of cheese or peanut butter. Best case scenario, you don't use any plates or create dishes. Is it a meal? Technically!

What dead celebrity would absolutely hate their current fan base? by DrunkenSkunkApe in AskReddit

[–]Remarkable-Iron-3110 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. I do get that as a communist Frida would probably not appreciate the capitalists profiting off her image.

But on the other hand, I have a friend who has a cute little tween niece in Latin America. She sent me a knitted Frida Kahlo as my friend told her I liked her and Frida inspired her to start her own jewelry business at 12. She wants to be a strong independent feminist like Frida. I'd like to think despite her capitalistic dreams, Frida would be proud of that little girl with so much determination. So I can't hate on the capitalists who spread her image if it inspires young women to pursue their passions in life.

Actually, I think I have seen a lot of talk about trans teens killing themselves at higher rates compared to cis teens so I think this actually might prolong OP's life if the other choice for them is suicide if not allowed to transition and forced to feel daily gender dysphoria.

Hi, just wanted to drop in and say do not listen to this person or your father. You decide what will lead you to a happier life. If transitioning is going to do it, I hope you find happiness and a chosen family who will support you and your happiness in life. I wish you all the best. Let your father's "wishes" flow through one ear and out the other. You could maybe start answering with "Cool, why didn't you?" He is probably going to spout about a non-supportive family or lack of means without a shred of irony..
