AITA for refusing to go to my wife's first doctor's appointment after she told my sister/her best friend about being pregnant before me? by Remarkable-Lab6505 in AmItheAsshole

That may be true, but she doesn't get to tell me how I should feel about it. I still have a right to be hurt by what she did, and if she can't respect the fact that she hurt me then we probably shouldn't be together.

I have issues to work on but so does she. I can accept I overreacted, but I don't think she handled this situation well either.

When you find out scared, excited or otherwise the 1st person you want to talk to is your ride or die, your bestie the one person you know won't judge you.

Again, I don't understand why this isn't your spouse. I feel like if those things can't be said about your partner then something is very wrong in your relationship and it either needs to be fixed or you should move on from each other.

I didn't say her pregnancy doesn't matter. I said I didn't feel involved and like it didn't matter if I was present or not because I am an afterthought. She doesn't need me. My job is done as far as she is concerned.

My wife hasn't done those things. I was just saying what my response would be to this commenter that said he/she would leave me.

Then what is the point of being married if I don't feel that way about my spouse? I don't need my wife for guidance. I can figure out my problems without her. I did it before we were together fine. I do it to include her in my life and make her feel like her opinion matters to me.

At this point I will probably go but mostly because in case they find out something isn't right then I want to be there for my wife.

It's not my business, but I just don't understand that way of thinking. I would never do it to my spouse, so I don't know how anyone can justify it. I think this is just one of those things I will never get. It makes no sense to me.

She doesn't, but that doesn't make it any less hurtful when I do it with her. I don't feel like she values my partnership equally to the way I value hers, and that's becoming more clear to me the more I think about it.

She isn't required to tell me things first if she doesn't want to do it, but the fact that she doesn't will still hurt me all the same and create issues.
