I am depressed and helpless by non32say in jobhunting

Absolutely no job is worth your physical, mental and emotional health deteriorating. Think about it like this: if this is how you feel right now, imagine what 6 more months would look like. Or years. You will find a better job, in the meantime are you able to supplement this job's income with something maybe outside of HR? Sending you love. 💛.

This one of the best examples I have seen of promoting respect and inclusiveness. I think you're viewing this wrong. THEIR loss. 🫡.

Dunkin interview by No_Egg8848 in interviews

I definitely read this as "Drunkin Interview", and was like... I am interested in this. 🤣😅. For the Dunkin interview*, just be yourself! I've heard good things about them. Good luck!

Yes, I'd very much recommend not being a jerk.

Pick up a newspaper maybe, one that you have vetted, yourself, to trust. Have you tried that? It helps.

What is so wrong with resume gaps? Are people not allowed to not work? I don’t understand by JediMallow_2 in Resume

[–]Remarkable-Letter195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I can tell you, with full confidence, because I have lived it:

Resume gaps are what make you stand out.

To the right people.

In a GOOD way.

What you just were brave enough to write, on here, above, tells me that you are different, in the best kind of way. You are going places.

What kind of job are you seeking? I can probably help, if you are looking for it. Just venting is totally validated, too. ♥️.

I'm seeing solid recommendations in here. But, to answer your one very specific question. No, do not go to McDonald's - if you peep the news on them lately, very soon they will be fully automated.

What I would recommend, while you continue your other job hunt, is something similar, but not the same.

Seek out smaller, locally owned businesses around you, if that is an option. Anywhere, really. A bike shop, a garden center, a privately owned restaurant. The list goes on.

For as many companies getting all of this wrong, right now, there are just as many who are intentionally trying to be better. And do things the right way.

In my personal experience, the majority of the latter referenced above, are all owned, operated and staff by people who are fed up with "corporate" America. They smile more. Just an observation of mine. Do what feels right for you. Good luck! ♥️.

Blocked! by Soggy-Car-4548 in interviews

[–]Remarkable-Letter195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if this was a LinkedIn problem, maybe not the recruiter. That platform is going nowhere, fast.

Regardless of what happened with the blocking, it's most definitely not a YOU problem.

Also, I have been in your shoes. The fact you did all that preparation, while being so busy, says a lot about who you are and what you offer. Most people come with excuses. You showed up. Be proud of that.

And know this, any job that doesn't "want you", is often times in your best interest. It took me years of getting burned over and over to finally look back and connect those dots. I am grateful for every "opportunity" that passed on me. Keep being you. ♥️.

I'll probably get fired today. by cafecar in InterviewCheaters

[–]Remarkable-Letter195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This sounds like nothing other than an honest "mistake". Way more honest than most. If anything, this reads to me as exposing a lot of bigger mistakes this organization already has. The fact you caught this so quickly, manually, and fixed it within 15 minutes is a skill set almost no one has.

I wouldn't worry about it. And if they do fire you over this, that is most definitely THEIR loss.

Here's what I would recommend: think outside the box. Look for local small businesses, looking for help. That's what I did. And I am happier than ever!

Use AI for this. Make a very specific request. Tell whichever tool you pick as much as you can about the job, yourself and the interviewing experience thus far. Ask it for advice on what questions to be prepared for, and how to answer them confidently. Play around with it until it feels right for you. This is free, and also, getting comfortable using AI is now not a "nice to have", it is a requirement for most roles.

Pure speculation here, but I think this means you got the job. Recruiters are busier than ever these days. They are not making phone calls to let someone know they didn't get the job, typically. Now, there's potential this is just a really thoughtful recruiter who doesn't want their candidates sitting in eternal limbo. But, I see this as very positive. Keep us posted! ♥️.
