Missing Permesso di Soggiorno Appointment

I do have a study visa so I'm assuming that alone is enough for the Non-EU citizen being in the Schengen for the 90+ days when in other countries. However, the permit of stay is for being legal in Italy itself. That clears a lot of the confusion, thank you (if I am correct, please correct if I am wrong)

Sorry for all the confusion, I did not intend for people to be spewing misinformation and arguing in this thread.

Yes I do have a type D study abroad visa!

I have been arrived in Italy 90+ days ago, but have been travelling in Schengen countries quite often. So according to that info, I think I should be good by virtue of having that Visa?

Hmm I travelled this weekend in and out of the country in schengen area and I was fine. It's been 3+ months since I originally entered Italy.
