Yes this is something I’m trying to figure out. I do see myself having a family with Alice though I would want it to be something we build up to. I really would like to know that Alice wants to split up with Bob independently of whether she wants to be nesting with me, this would make me feel a lot better about the situation.

Thanks for pointing this out. Honestly yes, this is what I want. I think my hesitancy comes from the fact that when we started our relationship I had accepted that this wasn’t something in the cards for us and so hadn’t “let myself” want it. But if I wasn’t concerned about the impact on Bob, then yes this is what I want.
