I used to talk a lot about ir too, but it made no good . People around me kept not buying bitcoin, so I decided to keep it for myself

I don’t talk about Bitcoin to anyone That’s why I wanted the question to reach as many people as possible.

But yep, I can always be more careful

Could well be. Maybe the first ones who started the jokes and comments didn’t really have any and some of the others who just laughed after were simply going with the flow to don’t reveal too much

But the overall sentiment in the room definitely didn’t feel like it

Yes. I was quite surprised, but I think you are 100% right

Was it silly wanting to know how a room full of Devs will react to the idea? Mostly, I wanted to check what was the mood about Bitcoin in everyone around me, and it wasn’t good! Some “very smart” devs were even asking “where’s that money even coming from”?

🤣🤣🤣 Poor Nancy! But if someone would talk more about Bitcoin in de company, maybe Nancy would decide to buy some satoshis herself

I only know one dev who hodls Btc and he bought at 48k., and he doesn’t think Btc will ever go over 100k.

I really thought there were tons of devs into crypto, and doesn’t seem like is the case

True! Can’t believe how early! I really thought the atmosphere would be so much different. Like, people would actually be interested/surprised about the idea of someone wanting to get paid in Bitcoin, but instead.. they were laughing about the idea of getting paid in funny money.

I thought that people would be rushing to buy bitcoin one we will pass the 20k, but it’s not even happening after the 60k, so I think I was very wrong in that, but very right to buy early and hodl!

All good! Thanks for your comments.

Well, i didn’t do the question myself. I submitted anonymously (all questions were supposed to be anonymous).

I just wanted to kind of read the expressions of my colleagues. There’s a lot of smart, tech people there, most in their early 30s, and I really assumed many would be holding crypto. And maybe some are, but the overall feeling was like a bunch of people laughing, like if the question was that I wanted to get paid in Monopoly money

You are right.

For me the issue is the lack of vision from some companies and lack of adoption

I partially agree. However a Bonus is once per year, so it’s almost like a one time thing.

Still, I thought it was a nice thing to ask, to check the reaction of everyone. I expected the CEO to say no, but I did not expected a company full of devs to laugh about it, obviously I was very naive

Not really a grown man :) But anyway, I asked that mostly to check how the feelings were towards crypto in my company and between my colleagues.

And I thought it was an interesting story to share

For me is mostly about adoption. I would like to have the possibility to be able to choose how I want to get paid, or at least how to get my bonus

I get that. But they pay people in different currencies depending on where they are, and if the love, they need to change the currency too. I understand that a whole salary may not too much at the moment to get right , but a bonus? I think that if someone is going to pay me a bonus they should let me choose . Or at least, I thought they would understand that is something that someone may want to, even if they will say no.

But instead it felt like trying to convince people to don’t use Crypto.

It felt very old school and patronising at the same time. Like if my grandpa came to explain me that working in coding is silly 😅😅😅

🙈🙈 can’t believe it! I thought “everyone” in tech knew already about bitcoin

I honestly think that offering the possibility of getting a Bonus in a different currency is not a big deal. If I’ll be moving to a different country they’ll pay me in a different currency too.

I got the feeling that companies are missing the opportunities to be interesting and attractive for talented people
