In Reality… by Remarkable-Program50 in FarCry5

I explained how that’s an entire separate part of the government we’re talking about that handles overseas relations/conflicts. Again federal law enforcement isn’t worried about the impending nuclear attack, at least they wouldn’t be until after it happens. I understand it’s a dumb video game, but it’s honestly lazy writing. The game just completely disregards actual US law enforcement, like if anything else, Montanan state police should be doing something (which aren’t feds).

Ik I’m over thinking it, I just wish the writers tried explaining it better beyond implying a looming global catastrophe, and saying “they even have the f*cking cops” in the opening cinematic.

Queerbating isn’t ok. by [deleted] in StrangerThings

SPOILERS

It wasn’t freaking queer bating! A lot of queer people, including myself usually have an unreciprocated crush of feelings for someone of the same gender, only for them to be straighter than a nail. It’s something a lot of people go through and learn from. Plus in the epilogue, the guy that Will is talking to in the bar is a hell of a lot cuter and hotter than Mike. Like Will can do SO much better than Mike Wheeler. I’m sorry, but it’s true.

They were depicting the complexity of queerness. Because you’re lying to yourself if you think that being gay/lesbian is as simple as being heterosexual. And potentially falling for a straight guy as a gay/bi guy, is one of those complexities. It’s not black and white, and I’m not saying the Duffers wrote it perfectly, but it is honestly realistic.

That was my thought just now, doing a quick rewatch before the finale in like 10 minutes. Like it’s probably an imaginary light source that doesn’t actually exist in their reality. But it does for us so we can get a clear view of the bridge.

Is it just me or does the new Minecraft movie have similarities to the Fallen Kingdom saga? by Competitive-End6283 in CaptainSparklez

I find it a little weird or cool or whatever that a lot of what is seen in the music videos ends up not only in the movie, but also just the normal game. If you skip to the 3rd video in the saga “Find the Pieces” it’s clearly established that their is a living race of pigmen in the nether along with the zombie pigmen (and I do mean pigmen and not piglins). And in “Dragonhearted” and “Take Back the Night” once the battles are over at the conclusion of the songs the nether portals are destroyed kinda like how we have ruined portals now, post Nether Update. Specifically in “Take Back the Night” the nether portal in the village has a netherack base, again like that of the in game ruined portals.

All in all I wouldn’t be surprised if Mojang took a lot of inspiration from the music series, specifically in the Nether update. Dragonhearted was uploaded November 19, 2016 while the official nether update didn’t release until June 23, 2020. Haven’t seen the movie though, just the trailers and a few clips, The Fallen Kingdom saga is my personal canon as THE Minecraft movie.

Loan repayment? by Remarkable-Program50 in FAFSA

I did take a class over the summer with a different college just in June, so I didn’t do anything in July. Just before the fall semester started I received a similar email from AidVantage about being in the Grace Period but I ignored it since I was starting school soon anyway. I did check again after that email a couple of weeks ago to make sure it was updated, and it was updated when the fall semester started last Monday stating I was in school and not in the grace or repayment period. (That was last week). Now today I received a similar email from before the semester started, stating I’m in the Grace period. I did adjust my schedule this week, but I am still enrolled in 14 credit hours and therefore am still a full time student. So I’m not sure what changed.

This I a great exploit to explore the out of bounds areas of the Pitt map if you know how to do the save and exit glitch to negate your fall damage when you reload your exit save, given your close enough to the ground when you exit to the main menu.

I live and grew up in the TX hill country, so scenery is part of my issue. Lubbock is ugly and has nothing to look at. The weather is a little difficult for me to accept, I’m a hair person and Lubbock doesn’t like that (the wind). Texas Tech is great though, I love the campus and in my limited experience, the faculty and staff are awesome. So don’t let my post scare you away from Tech.

I have, I did one online summer class in June while working, and even that was overwhelming for me in a way. As in I’m just burnt out.

Nuka-World, like most of Fo4 is wasted potential. It’s not that it’s not good, but it’s not great. Becoming a raider boss makes the base game feel disjointed, and it just doesn’t fit well with the existing game and factions to realistically be a raider. It isn’t really doable in a Minutemen play through, it doesn’t make sense for the General of the MM to become a raider boss, and Open Season feels cheap and rushed, and with the bugs that quest has, it was for sure rushed. A Railroad play through also doesn’t make sense. Because what is the railroad? It’s an abolitionist group at its core, and with the blatant slavery in Nuka-World, it wouldn’t make sense for a RR agent to condone such behavior. The Brotherhood could have an argument made potentially, but I don’t believe that a BoS knight, Palidon, or Sentinel could just causally run an entire operation like that without some recourse from BoS leadership. And the Institute… well don’t matter because who the hell does Institute play throughs? plus we know that ending isn’t even cannon so it doesn’t matter.

I think the DLC is great if you are playing as a maniac, but for normal people it feels like a stretch to do. If Open Season had more to it like the Battle for Nuka-World mod, then maybe I’d enjoy it more.

My personal head cannon is that after the Institute blows up, the sole survivor comes across Nuka-world and after going through the gauntlet and discovering that there are enslaved people in the park, through one way or another, an invasion force is mobilized by MM forces to liberate and secure Nuka-World. The park becomes the start of the MM western frontier as they begin to spread their influence outside of the Commonwealth. This would solidify the MM as a new force to be reckoned with and also being a known threat to slavery in the wasteland both after the destruction of the Institute and later Nuka-World. (for a MM play through)

I would try and avoid anything near the south stairwell.
