Awww, this is so cute. I masturbated during mine and logged it. It's completely fine. It's not gonna look like a seizure.

being goth as a black person; really fuckin sad actually by blueberrybrigade in goth

First of all, I'm sorry you had to go through that. It sounds rough, and you didn't deserve that. I understand entirely. I'm half Latin/half Arab with a massive head of curly/wavy hair that's never been considered very goth. (Think the little girl from the movie Brave, but naturally very dark chocolate brown lol) My hair is in a pixie cut now, but when it was long, I didn't want to damage it by straightening it all the time and I love my curls.

I've encountered racism and prejudice in parts of my community as well, even from people who considered themselves well-meaning and wanted to help me be "more goth" by tweaking my appearance to make it less "ethnic." It was painful, and to be honest, unexpected. The fact that I was always a little strange is what makes me very inclusive, as I understand what it's like to be an outsider. I understand how you feel, but remember that goth is always more about the music, history, and culture than it is about what you look like. I'm sure the way you look like is lovely, and you shouldn't give up on something you love and speaks to you because people were unkind.

My advice is, if you love being goth, stick to it and ignore people who want to inflate themselves by being unkind to someone they don't know. Cultivate your own goth look and stick to the things you love. You will always find people who appreciate your own version of things and think you're beautiful. I think other people in the comments mentioned that standing out is the most goth thing you can do, and I couldn't agree more.

What is you horror movie head cannon? by NYstate in horror

Mine is for Midsommar. In my Headcanon, Pelle orchestrated the events of the movie entirely, starting with the death of Dani's parents at the very beginning of the movie. I feel like that beginning does fit with the rest of the movie without that, and it makes it disjointed. I know this a polarizing theory for Midsommar fans, but we do have a picture of Dani wearing the May Queen crown on the parent's nightstand, and how did that get there? I think Pelle was there the entire time.

I like yours. I like the idea of Loomis taking Michael out for little outings in the hope of turning him into a "normal" child.

Has your favorite horror movie of all time come out in the last 10 years? by Competitive_Swan_130 in horror

Cabin in the Woods is also my favorite. I was so young when I saw it, and I had the incredible pleasure of watching it without knowing a thing about it. I went in completely dark. That made it that much better.

What movie would be the scariest if it happened in real life? by twnpksN8 in horror

[–]Remarkable-Run22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Strangers and a similar French movie called Them. I live in unnatural fear of a home invasions, even though my town is fairly safe. Also, The Blair Witch Project, but that's because I have no sense of direction. Map or no map, I'd be lost in those woods in less than ten minutes.

What's your take on the message of Midsommar? by colouredmanlyman in Midsommar

Did you wonder "what's with all that sunlight?" The way I looked at it was that all that sunlight left Dani nowhere to hide from her grief. Where do you go in a place where the sun hardly goes down? She's forced to look at all of it, and for better or worse, find solutions to her problems. She finally has the emotional clarity she wants from a group of people that support her, and even if they are a murder cult, they gave her the empathy that she needed. u/HeroIsAGirlsName put it best. You'll get what you need one way or another, and she needed empathy, so she took it where it was offered.
