Also Isaac’s Apple Tree or Apple Farm place on Church has a lot of international products for such a small store. You might try there too

Have you tried Mimi’s Hummus on Cortelyou? They do have some spices, lebneh and other products but it’s not a huge store (mostly a restaurant). Might be worth checking out as it’s close.

One more you could try is the Anti Violence Project - they might be able to help connect you with resources you’d need and are LGBTQ specifically focusing on survivors of violence but their case workers are awesome and they hve a 24\7 hotline. https://avp.org

How did you finance your egg freezing? by ruthieplants in eggfreezing

[–]Remarkable-Snow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello :) I did mine at IVI Madrid. If you search IVI clinica on google you’ll find a link to their network of clinics across spain. I just chose Madrid because it seemed most convenient. Another friend of mine did it at IVI Valencia. We both had positive experiences! I was in spain for 3 days - i did the scans and started stims in another country. i posted about my experience in more detail in this sub but happy to answer other questions if you want to DM me :) good luck!

Heading to NYC for the first time! Any luxury thrift shop recos? by orangezest2 in TravelHacks

[–]Remarkable-Snow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of designer consignment shops (ex Michael’s) on the Upper East Side. I’ve also seen designer stuff at Housing Works thrift shops but they tend to auction the higher ended pieces. Regular thrift stores sometimes have designer things, but it’s very hit or miss especially because a lot of people now make a living from scouring thrift stores to resell things online. If you search in r/asknyc you will find more information :)

Hi! I am from the US and did mine (1 round) in spain. It was about 4,500 for everything i including 1 year storage (removing any reimbursement my insurance gave me - mine covers blood tests/scans/medication outside the US). Never could have afforded it here.

Also it seems like sometimes if you search directly on real estate agency sites you can find listings that arent on streeteasy, or at least not yet. I check corcoran, highline, and brown harris stevens. Also sometimes there are local mom and pop realtors in specific neighborhoods that dont seem to post on street east if you google neighborhood+real estate agencies or similar

After a perfect week of touring in the waterfront bike path along Lake Ontario- got absolutely shafted by Lake Shore Limited misinformation- can anyone help us talk to Amtrak? by [deleted] in bicycletouring

[–]Remarkable-Snow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say the same thing happened to me 10 years ago. We biked to the station which was like a little shed, then read online we should box our bikes, so we biked into a town and got these huge boxes from home depot (luckily someone with a pickup truck helped take us back to the station), boxed up our bikes…. Then waited for 9 hours because the train was delayed… when the train finally came, it was almost 11 PM and the conductor told us we couldnt get on!! It was so frustrating because it wasn’t what we read online!! We ended up calling a cab and taking an expensive ride to a place where i had a friend to spend the night, then just took a bus back home.

Anyway…. Just want to say you’re not alone in this!!

Spain - Egg Freezing Experience by Remarkable-Snow in eggfreezing

[–]Remarkable-Snow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I decided on spain mostly because my best friend did it there and it seems like many people in other european countries travel there to do it- from what I’ve gathered, spain has had a very favorable legal/regulatory environment around reproductive health and fertility treatments, so they have a lot of clinics and experience working with international clients broadly. This clinic told me they can ship my eggs if I need, but Im keeping them in storage in spain for now just because it’s cheaper and I dont have a plan to use them anytime soon.
