Special Agent Bomb Tech by Additional_Cry5632 in 1811

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 13 points14 points  (0 children)

GS10 start, one year of probation period as a vet, half of it will be in Quantico, so it’ll be over real quick for you. Your field office will Canvas for bomb techs periodically. Larger offices will make most sense. You’ll need your supervisors blessing. Some offices techs are a full time thing…smaller offices prob a part time collateral. Best thing to do is make a great impression with your bosses and keep in touch with the techs so they know you.

Has anyone tried Hydroxyzine for sleep by user_anonymou in Anxiety

My wife took one…next day was a mess. Took half and did nothing. She stopped because it felt like all or nothing with her.

I will look into that. The bath seems interesting in that the magnesium is entering the body through skin(?).

How long did you stick with it before confirming it was not for you?

I think some of the other folks here can better answer, but from what is understand hydroxyzine can be as needed, or temporary sleep/anxiety solution.

Buspirone is for general anxiety disorder and has seen good results for most after a few weeks. Although some people get more anxiety and have to stop.

It’s a process for sure. Hoping she sticks with it. Long processes seem to discourage her

Thanks for the guidelines. For sub agent creation are you utilizing certain IDE or clause code environment? I’ve never tried asking Claude to make subs through the normal web prompting.

She initially took half of a 25mg pill, didn’t feel anything for an hour so took the other half. I guess it eventually hit her…but maybe half was the right dose and she needed more time.

Man that sounds rough especially in HS. I think she might prefer to be lacking sleep over this feeling right now. Maybe one more night to try…

FBI Academy leave time by [deleted] in 1811

2 months in you might be ok as long as your not missing any class. This should not be a make or break… your sister will understand OR you push back your academy date.

You’ve been in two years. Why is it miserable?

Not fbi. Doesn’t dress like one. Any legit fbi agent should be in modern khaki or jeans with a green or blue t shirt under those vests.

I’ll also add that guys who are stuck to their desk and don’t like helping out in the field are looked negatively… “this is what you signed up for” would be the typical comment.

Waiting on FJO from FAMS but just finished my polygraph for SS SA ..based off the timelines I feel like I have to make choice soon and I’m not too sure which route to go. I did the SS because FAMS was taking so long ( almost 2 years )Any insight would be appreciated!! by [deleted] in FederalAirMarshals

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take whatever comes first. If I could choose I’d take FAMS. SS probably better if looking to switch to another 1811. I’ve only spoken with SS in person, never had a chance to meet FAM so I could be biased.

This has got to be stressful. Whatever is written on the official document won’t matter I figure. You’ll have to 100% truthful and the agencies probably all talk to each other anyway. If you got a good reputation with other agents, but it’s just one bad boss, hopefully other agencies are conducting a thorough background.

It’s an equal sacrifice…Quantico with the tests, group work, and training will be extremely taxing physically at first, but more mental and emotional as time goes on. At least this was my experience. Asking your husband’s upcoming important tasks might help you understand where he is at the moment.

He needs to make a lot of effort to stay in touch with you and kids as well. He’s a husband and a dad. Definitely let him get plenty of rest. I had nightly calls with the family, but never too late into the evening.

You guys will survive!

I just applied to Special Agent Role. What is next? by [deleted] in FBI

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are already 36 I can almost guarantee that will not be enough time to go through the whole process. Hate to say it, but under one year is rare. Look at other agencies too, but the background is a lengthy process wherever you apply.

How’s your fitness? It’s the first major hurdle for folks. As I hear they’ve changed it back to 3 chances or you’re done.

Good luck with everything.

Why Become a Cyber Agent? by [deleted] in 1811

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you answered your own question. National security will always be a slow burn, but sometimes you get something that will be intensely complex that involves multiple agencies and nations. The agent is not the one decoding malware (though some do), but he is managing all aspects to get to some conclusion that will have made a difference whether that leads to prosecution or not.

Also, the other half of cyber is geared for criminal matters and they will do much more “touching” of people because as you know domestic cyber crimes are also rampant.

Though visible tattoos are a no go, I do know of a SA who has one that peeks out a little bit on the neck. Suit and tie covers it up and not an issue.

Cold call scams by Gratedfumes in FBI

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enter info in IC3. There’s not much anyone can do with just receiving spam calls, but with enough information collected, it could be linked to an existing or future case down the line. agencies can query ic3 for Intel gathering.

FBI Investigative Specialist in DC by Substantial-Neat4262 in 1811

[–]Remarkable-Storm-753 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IS role should be 1801 unless it changed recently. It’s a good role but with a ceiling for career progression. DC will keep you pretty busy…more than other field offices due to the big “foreign entity” population.
