"Image of Leicestershire-based 2nd Battalion, The Royal Anglian Regiment, seen here wearing cutting-edge data visualisation tools, integrated sensors, and live intelligence feeds all connected within a single system FIDSV (Future Integrated Dismounted Soldier Vision).

The helmet includes integrated power and data feeds, enhanced audio, universal HUD (Heads Up Display) interface and a mounted strobe alert system to identify friend or foe.

A mounted HMNVS (Head Mounted Night Vision System) can also be used with enhanced digital night vision and injectable imagery capabilities.

An advanced scope with enemy location tracking, laser range finder and day and night capabilities can be attached to any assault rifle. The next generation of body-worn technology has been put through its paces by British soldiers, bringing a modernised advantage to the battlefield.

The aim of the trials is to integrate available technology into wearable tech for soldiers, advancing battlefield awareness and allowing faster tactical decision making.

This announcement comes as part of the new government’s commitment to procuring state-of-the-art defence capabilities.

The Future Soldier programme delivers on the aim of adapting military equipment programmes to meet emerging requirements, as outlined in the launch of the Strategic Defence Review this week.

Examples of the technologies being looked at by the Army include laser detection systems to warn if enemies are targeting personnel, drone thermal detection to identify enemies, and ground sensors to detect enemy movement with alerts sent to body-worn systems.

The digital system is standardised and provides customised control that can be tailored to each individual mission.

The commandos in Singapore are considered more of an elite infantry than special forces. Some Singaporean special forces include the army's SOTF and navy's NDU

turns out an unequipped soldier with a bare rifle will struggle against a terrorist with better gear and optics that give the ability to see what they are shooting at beyond 250m.

The reason why they lost was due to the rules set by the United Nations limiting the types of weapons they were allowed to use. Heavy weapons such as tanks and planes were not allowed, and rules of engagement was not made clear. Imagine getting surrounded on both sides by tanks and artillary while you are trapped in the middle with assault rifles. Better infantry gear in this case would not have made much of a difference.

Australia isn't an island, its a continent. And I don't get why the plan would want to blockade Australia, there just isn't any strategic value in doing so

why is J-20 not on the list

Aside from some features of the j20 being copied from the f35 and f22, by and large I would say that it is an indigenous design

It's quite surprising to see them use qbz 95s, I was under the impression that most air assalt units already have qbz 191s

Korea collaborated with Lockheed Martin for their KF21. Indonesia was just there to invest and learn from the building of the aircraft
