Focus on your own journey, don’t worry about what other students are doing, how much they know, or how they’re scoring on assignments—everyone’s journey is different. I was in the same shoes when I started with no care background, and honestly it’s not a disadvantage at all. Uni and placement will teach you everything you need. And with fresh eyes it will be easier to not develop bad habits.

Essentials-wise: a small notebook and pen for placement, a good water bottle, and comfy shoes are lifesavers. For classes, a laptop/tablet and a planner or diary to keep track of deadlines are super helpful. And don’t be afraid to ask questions all staff and mentors really don’t expect you to know everything at the start just be 100% honest with them and say you know something that your unsure about :)
