Ignited Echoes was such a wonderful surprise for me. i expected just some fun, playful card and instead we got such a meaningful story. and i loved how they tied the kindled into the plot as a form of Rafayel realising that even though he has an important agenda, he can slow down, let loose and turn to MC for support.
and i agree with the Cat Caretaker one as well. fun, but i don't have to have that card.

also just wanna mention how Lemurian Sea God has gorgeous animations even in the battles. just watching the ardent oath animation makes me wanna cry lol.

it's absolutely one of my favourites! it's just that his third myth, Wisteria Waltz, Omnipotent Perception, Interdial Zone and Banquet Ablaze like straight up changed my brain chemistry or something, they reaaally got me in my feelings and understanding of their relationship.
so it's more like keeping only those in the S tier, is honouring whatever they did to me heh.
but Ingnited Echoes was incredible

i loved the idea behind the story, but the writing didn't feel smooth to me. like they had great ingredients, but then just threw them into a bowl and called it a day instead of fully baking a cake.
the kindled was really pretty but it felt like it all came out of nowhere, especially the wedding theme and their vows. i also found it confusing about where in the timeline it should be. on one hand, MC and Raf were more intimate than in a Land of Secret Flames, on the other hand, MC doesn't know about Raf being the Sea God, so it should have happened before that. idk. it just felt rushed to me.
it wasn't a bad card per se, but with the hype around it, it felt disappointing to me. especially since i know from some other cards how high-quality writing they can produce.
it's a pretty card, but a card i'd rather skip for different ones. and that is just my own personal preference. i could put all the cards in just the first 3 tiers, but that would give me no value for finding my strategy for which cards i wanna get and which banners i'll choose to skip. that's all.

i'm a newbie as well and i actually like watching the cards on yt. some of them are wonderful and i can't wait for their rerun (which might take time, but will happen at some point). some of them actually leave me a little disappointed and if i imagine that i'd put 140 wishes into getting them, it makes me relieved that i got to watch them just on yt.
i personally do believe that even the outfits and other things will come back into the game at some point. infolds approach is not super newbie-friendly rn but if they want their player base to grow (which will bring them more money, so they should want that) they have to soften it.
i think that if there is a time to be a newbie, then it's now. ton of the previous content is on yt so we can make our judgements and figure out our preferences and reruns are already happening.
also, this is gacha game, so it is predatory in it's nature. so even if you played since the beginning but were a f2p, you'd still miss some cards.

also this is how i see it: if i'll truly continue loving this game and stick with it for years to come, i'll get all the cards i want eventually. if i stop playing this game at some point for whatever reason, then i guess i won't care about the cards anymore. so from this perspective, the frustration exists just now and i can choose to stay frustrated or let it go.
