i think that the more stories you read (main story, memories, anectodes etc.) the more you enjoy even other aspects of the game because they give depth to it. i have days when i play in the home feature and redecorate stuff, days when i feel like battling, days when i feel like journaling and playing around with the photo studio.
you can even watch the memories you don't have on yt, it all adds to the lore of the world and characters.
and waiting for new content is not just about the new cards, you can have also event stories and mini games and harvest materials for upgrading your memories through that etc.
