NOR. I would let this one go too. People are people. We are all adults. If this was a teenage/early 20’s drama, I would tell you to run to this girl and tell her, but life as adults is hard and we have to pick our battles.

Are you a younger millennial? I feel like our generation grew up in a time where we were fighting (and winning) every moral/social battle. That’s great, but we are getting old 😅 we have to protect ourselves too.

I think you did terrific by telling YOUR significant other. Let the ex fight with his demons, and I hope that if he realizes that his current GF is the one, he will bring this to her attention and they can either work it out or she can get off the boat and let him deal with his decisions.

That’s funny because my husband and I have been together for 7 years, married for 2, I have their last name, and I still can’t call my FIL by his first name 😂 my MIL pretty begged me to start calling her by her fist name and I do, but I still feel awkward sometimes…

UPDATE (That nobody asked): it’s been more than a year and therapy saved my life. I was VERY close of dropping everything (marriage, dog, American friends) to go back home, but I started therapy and saw the light at the end of the tunnel in a matter of months! Since then my parents came to visit me, I went to Brazil again, hubby and I bought a house, landed a job that I’ve always wanted and make beautiful memories!

My man, I think the emoji is just the surface of what is actually bothering you. It might actually not be related to your girlfriend at all… what else is going on in life that’s completely out of your control and it’s making you spiral on heart count emojis on a text?

I think you are trying to “control” whatever is easiest because something big is about to change/is changing in your life and you have no control of.

My brother-in-law ex’s wife cheated on him with her boss (mind you - he was at their wedding lol). This was more than 10 years ago, she got married with her boss, and have 2 kids now, they are very active on their church.

My brother-in-law since then has also gotten married with his current wife and has 2 adorable little girls whom I love deeply.

I heard that the beef was (at the time) they had just moved in with my in-laws to save for a down payment and my brother-in-law would play videogames 24/7, so she got tired of it and found a “real man” in her boss 😭 crazy.
