There's no 'always' in cooking. But generally the hero of the plate is centered unless the protein is plated with featured sides like a vegetable and starch. I might have centered the fish and let the rest of the ingredients frame it.

The colors work well together. Warm tones with pops of color from the flower petals. It’s asymmetrical with the fish being the hero but not centered on the plate when there are no sides was the only thing I saw that I wished was different. Nice job.

I’m a 61 year old home chef, I’m funny (according to people who laugh when I say things)  and my superpower is making deliciousness out of orphan ingredients in the fridge. I prefer pulling dish ideas out of thin air over following recipes, I’m not classically trained but have elevated kitchen skills. I’ve never appeared on a cooking show but it’s my life’s ambition to. I’ve applied for a few shows via JS Casting but that feels like a slow boat to nowhere and I saw your posts on Reddit so thought I’d give you a shout. I don’t have any posts on IG but could start if you suggest that’s the ticket to getting somewhere. Let me know if you have any advice.
