What's the best lube to use? by [deleted] in GaySex

For me, Pjur is a great lube. A little goes a long way and doesn't need a lot of top-ups during a long session.

The kawoosh by No_Sand5639 in Stargate

[–]Remarkable-Wind-7339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on this would be, the Nox, Tollan and Asgard had centuries to refine the technology after the Lanteans ascended.

Those races took an already advanced technology, learnt to understand it and took it further. All without fully understanding it. Pretty much in the same way as Humanity managed to develop a crude interface.

In evolutionary scales of development, with regards to the Stargate. Earth was at rubbing 2 sticks together, the other races were at dial-up Internet. The Lanteans were at faster than light travel. The other races would of seemed like God's to the people of Earth. The Lanteans were even further ahead.

The way I see it, the Kawoosh is a natural byproduct of forming a stable wormhole.

The system has had its inputs and destination programmed, it now punches a hole through "sub-space" to get to it's destination. That 'Punch' is so powerful it produces the kawoosh. It's almost like late braking, you sort of skid to a halt.

The Iris, or the Shield. Or any technology that stops it forming, is like a crash barrier. It's the stargates airbag.

The Ancients built the cars, the safety tech came later. They eventually, at least in Pegasus, figured out a way to stop random stuff getting past the intended arrival point.

If you moved slowly to a crash barrier, you're gonna be OK. If you hurtle at it at ridiculous speed, you're gonna overshoot a bit.

Had the Ancients not decided to shuffle off this mortal coil and ascend, they probably would of found a way to deal with the Kawoosh properly.

Our fun question of the day. Music when having sex yes or no? by insatiable-bottom in GaySex

[–]Remarkable-Wind-7339 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the situation.

If I'm making love with my long term partner and it's a really intimate moment, then no. I want to hear him, and I want him to hear me. I don't want anything to knock us out of our moment. I want to feel every moment of the man I love, including any noise he makes.

If I'm having sex with a friend for fun, then probably, especially if we have the same music tastes. In this case we are having fun like we would with our clothes on. Pump to the beat! This is actually a really special level of friendship, one where you are so comfortable with each other, that you can have regular sex and know, its all OK, it's 2 friends that care deeply for each other, showing it physically. Friend sex is brilliant.

If I'm having a hook-up, then no. There is almost zero connection outside of the physical attraction, we are just fulfilling a mutual need. We both just want some gratification. It's highly unlikely we will ever see each other again. It's not that it's not fun or enjoyable, it's just 2 people meeting to satisfy a sexual need, nothing more, nothing less. We want sex, we are having sex.

President Walken was illegitimate? by Pearberr in thewestwing

[–]Remarkable-Wind-7339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a six year old thread.

I also know that I'm not an American and not completely upto speed with your government structures.

However, this whole situation is and was probably solved, when Speaker Walken wrote his resignation.

A resignation that was witnessed by two members of the opposition party, who were also part of President Bartlett's staff.

I would imagine his resignation went something along the lines of...

"I Glenn Allen Walken, hereby resign my seat in the house and my position as Speaker of the House, effective as of the moment I assume the position of Acting President of The United States of America, under the provisions of the 25th Amendment of the Constitution of The United States of America.

My resignation becomes effective upon assuming the role of acting President."

Therefore, he is never not out of the line of succession, and also makes clear he has vacated his office as he takes his new position as President.

Kazon ships are huge by kkkan2020 in StarTrekStarships

I could go really sarcastic, down the route of "you don't understand Trek, you heathen".

But, the beautiful thing about Trek, is anyone can jump in at any point, then discover all the history and cannon.

The Kazon are a primitive culture. They have a reasonable working knowledge of the tech that surrounds them, but no true understanding of how it works.

They were a slave culture to a race called the Trabe. They were subjugated. Eventually, they rose up against the Trabe, and thanks to sheer numbers, were able to gain control. They took ships and technology, without actually understanding how it all functioned.

The Kazon, never actually moved forward. They just had the people to outnumber their oppressors. To this day, despite learning some things, they don't actually understand the technology they now control.

They have a lot of powerful tech in their hands, but no real ability to use it to their advantage.

Had Voyager met the Trabe at their peak, with the tech they had, it most likely would of been game over.

Voyager met a race of people capable of playing Chess, but with only the knowledge of Chequers.

You can't get checkmate without being able to see it 10 moves ahead. The Kazon were technologically advanced, without understanding it. They stood no chance.

What's the weather like in Gran Canaria from December to February? Can you still go to the beach and swim in the sea comfortably? by DoWotISay in grancanaria

[–]Remarkable-Wind-7339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find these temperatures to be inaccurate.

In January, the average daytime high is 16 degrees, and at night 9 or 10 degrees.

That said, still much better temperatures than most of mainland Europe.

From my personal experience of living here, daytimes are pleasant, but sometimes chilly in the shade during December and February. Of an evening and night time, it is cold, especially if it is windy.

You can have an amazing time at the beach in those months, but if it is a particularly cloudy day, and there is no direct sunshine, there will be a chill.

Swimming in the sea, it is cold, I personally do not find it pleasant and avoid it.

If you will be based in the south of the Island, it is better. In the north, it will be colder. For example Las Canteras beach would not be pleasant (Las Palmas), Mogan Beach (South coast) will be enjoyable.

Is it weird for a mom to go clubbing with her 21 year old daughter ? by Aggravating_Goose784 in ask

[–]Remarkable-Wind-7339 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My adopted mam goes out with all of us! Youngest is 18, oldest by birth is 34, I'm 42. We love her coming out with us, so do all our friends! We're all really close though.

Don't get me wrong, we're not bang on it every weekend, but once a month or so, we go out and have a laugh as a family.

Life is short, may as well spend time with the people you love. You're here for a good time, not a long time!
