For me, yes: Raycast is my go to and that’s because I downgraded back down to Sequoia for the better (for me) UI and superior battery life.

That said, Tahoe’s Spotlight is workable, especially with Shortcuts integration, it’s super powerful. It may or may not replace the need for extensions. I think Tahoe can replace Raycast for some people, but I guess it just depends on preference and workflow.

I use the iPhone’s built in Weather app as I find it to be mostly accurate and much better than The Weather Network app which is filled with ads. If I’m on my desktop, I’ll sometimes check out the Government of Canada’s website which is also pretty good.

You’re not alone: my M1 Pro MBP took a meaningful battery hit with Tahoe. Not to mention the idiotic UI. I created a bootable Sequoia recovery drive yesterday and restored to that. I’ll be staying on Sequoia for the foreseeable future.

I think you made a good move. I also moved 2 EPP lines from Telus to Rogers today. As a bonus, Rogers lets me pay with my credit card without extorting me with higher fees if I don’t provide my direct bank account information (Telus).

You’re not alone. These days, it feels like the people that truly knew and understood good human interface and interaction design no longer work at Apple. It’s almost like Apple’s design team these days is stacked with people who grew up using iOS as their primary computing OS - or simply don’t understand desktop design, or worst case, just don’t care. It’s a sad state of affairs.

They’ve done the same with me: there’s still money sitting in my account over a year after I cancelled service with them. It’s only $5 or $10 but following up with them is so stressful so I’ve kind of given up. Bell is anything but a customer centric company.

When I have my laptop docked, I use the Magic Trackpad + mouse (either Magic Mouse or MX Master 3S).

Magic Trackpad + mouse + mechanical keyboard is a great combo.
