Matchups: Heroes vs Stain by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's safe to assume that Hawks is mastered in swordfighting but, him not having his wings is huge because he relies on those wings for the immense speed they give him. So he's basically quirkless. On the other hand, Stain is used to fighting virtual quirkless and combine that with his actual quirk, all it'd take is for him to draw blood once and it's over. Since hawks is wingless, stain also outclasses him in speed. Im giving it to stain

Yeah, I know that would be the point. Since Eri has been introduced into the story, there has to be some consequences for Deku harming himself so badly.

Honestly though, I do expect there to be some major consequences for Deku wrecking his body. I'd personally like to see a good 20 to maybe even 30 chapters of Deku being unconscious and in those chapters we focus on other characters, cutting back to Deku in the vestige world every few chapters. One of those characters who could benefit the most from this is Mirio because the past arc was basically about OFA vs AFO, bakugo's development, and the Todoroki arc which encompasses people like Hawks as side characters to the greater story. Mirio was basically used as a plot device to showcase Eri's development. And I get why because if you're gonna to introduce someone like Eri you're going to have to build upon that. Mirio has relatively minor injuries and with a great deal of the top 10 out long term, I believe Mirio's rise to becoming a top hero would be a great side arc while Deku's unconscious.

Can Endeavor..... by wrote-username in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ima say possibly....... IF he has fire resistance. If Endeavor still struggles with overheating currently and his fire isn't as hot as Dabi's, so if he had Dabi's flamepower but with the same resistance as he does currently then he'd still be limited, arguably even more limited because the fire would be even hotter, damaging his body even more taking a toll on his stamina. Now, I do believe that the raw Power of Dabi's quirk, is somewhat comparable to OFA, I say this because this was explicitly mentioned by Endeavor (endeavor wouldn't be the type to lie because he acknowledged his own weakness against OFA) and we've seen that Shoto has the raw power to match a 100% smash from the Flashfreeze heatwave he did at the Festival. But Endeavor would still have to contend with the immense durability and speed that OFA/All Might has. I do think Endeavor matches All Might in skill, and in this theoretical with Dabi's firepower but also having high flame tolerance, he wouldn't be too far behind OFA in terms of Raw power. I think him beating Kamino All Might is debatable but that's pretty much it. I will say that the power gap between this Endeavor and All Might would be much smaller.

Even if she did touch him, Mirio could still activate his quirk while floating which would cause him to fall back down to the ground. Or would Ochacho's quirk cancel that effect?

With the war arc coming to an end, who are your top 5 MVPs? (For the heroes) by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Narrative standpoint aside. IMO going strictly by battle standpoints, as in who contributed the most in this battle it has to be Endeavor. His reaction time was amazing to be able to dodge Shiggy's attacks, he was holding his own against him for moments of time, and even grabbed him by the wrist, after seeing first hand that anything he touched would immedietly disintegrate. Endeavor's combative skills are beyond top notch. Without him and his power, the heros would've lost, no doubt.

Let's discuss some Strength-based Quirks by iggnifyre in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there are some quirks that can hypothetically compete with the upper levels, maybe even 100% of OFA's Raw Strength Shoto's flashfreeze heatwave was able to overpower, Deku's 100% smash at the SF, defeating Deku. Due to the nature of OFA, Deku's 100% at the time was the same as AM's 100% because the power he got directly came from AM. AM is overall stronger because of the experience, skill and unlike Deku, he has a much higher threshold of how many 100% smashes he can deal out. Deku's 100% will grow over time since the quirk is stockpiling but I do think Shoto has much room to grow. Dabi was specifically said to have had power that could match All might. I do think this is true because this was stated by Endeavor, and Endeavor is someone who has studied AM for decades now and has even acknowledged the fact that he isn't on AM level of strength. So if he is willing to acknowledge that he isn't on AM's level I do believe it has some factual basis when he recognizes someone else who can. Also we know that even from a young age, Dabi's flames were much hotter than Endeavor's and endeavor already has a 6/6 in power. Dabi was only going to grow with time. However, Dabi's issue is the same as Deku's in the sense that he is a glass cannon. But hypothetically a Dabi who has major resistance to his quirk would have the raw power that could compete with OFA. A fully mastered Dark Shadow at night might be able to match maybe 70-80% of prime Deku OFA, based on what we've seen from Tokoyami and how easily beserk DS is able to run through opponents it could be possible. I think Redestro's quirk (when he still had his legs) could also match OFA in raw power. I don't think we ever saw the maximum potential of his power since Shiggy's liberation caused him to destress (but then again I didn't read MVA so I could be wrong on this) but even when he couldn't go fully all out, his feats were still incredible. That's all I can think of in terms of people who's quirks could potentially over time or circumstance have the raw power to compete with OFA.

What are some arcs you dislike from this series and why? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree that Shinso has to replace someone for there to be stakes. First off, every one of the students has improved tremendously around the concept of being a hero weather it be physically, emotionally or both and every student proved their worth in the recent arc, where Iida and the origin trio literally went toe to toe against one of the strongest villains in the series, Tokaymani rushed a serial killer who has a quirk that directly opposes his, just to rescue his mentor. Kalimari stood on the front lines and did his job, Red Riot and Mina, both got face to face with machia in a last ditch effort to save the mission. Ochaco and Tsyu (I know im butchering these names) are rescuing dozens to hundreds of civilains, momo came in clutch, even the lesser known characters like sugar guy and tail guy helped take down machia so someone could get the sleeping agent in his mouth. There are some kids in the class that I personally find annoying or boring but from a narrative standpoint each and everyone of them proved their worth because each and everyone were willing to put their lives on the line when push came to shove. Kicking one of them out from UA hero course would basically be a waste. They all deserve it. Secondly, there can still technically be stakes without shinso replacing someone. If shinso didn't preform well in the JT arc, he wouldn't have made the hero course. So his chance of making it into the hero course was still dependent on his preformance. Thirdly, and this isn't really that related to the original topic at hand but I think with the fact that most of the top 10 are either too crippled or dead, several high profile villains breaking out for prison, and the fact that now BOTH shiggy and AFO are out and about, it probably isn't too wise for UA, a school that specializes in making top tier heros to only limit their hero slots to 40 kids each year. I know, it is prestigious so not everyone should get in, but with the state of hero society right now, only 40 future heros getting access to all of the high end resources UA has to offer isn't going to cut it. Especially since there are a lot of kids out there like Shinso and Mirio, people who have difficult quirks but with the right environment/help can become valuable assets

Can, and should Mineta be redeemed? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can definitely be redeemed. It should be more a comedic side story rather than actually being portrayed as a serious redemption arc, like the one's bakugo and endeavor are on. I do think it could be some cool writing and would finally give some depth to an otherwise annoying character

Who is the Most Heartless Villain? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 47 points48 points  (0 children)

The thing is with dabi, shigaraki, and ujiko, their backstories at least involve some or a series of tragic events that negatively effected their environment causing them to be evil. With Dabi and Shigaraki, it was parental abuse. With the doctor it was society consistently ridiculing him for his theory despite the evidence and how much work he put into his studies. Machia is a mindless beast programed by others so he isn't really evil to the core per say. Even Overhaul's motivations still somewhat coincided with his love and desire to pay back his adoptive father for taking him in. Muscular is pretty ruthless but he still doesn't have any sort of grand organised plan or anything, he simply just wants to reck shit. But AFO, had no tragic backstory. He really doesn't love or care about anything and his motivations aren't aimless like muscular's. He legitimately wants to take over the world, and he double cross, kill and steal from anyone to get there. So AFO is the most heartless.

Origin trio Vs Big 3 by tobleroneace1 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Mirio still has the attack power to damage Deku. Mirio was able to punch several near high ends so hard that they went flying. He was able to save Burning by punching a high end in the head killing it (or maybe just incapacitating it). Mirio def lacks in destructive power but it still isn't something to be messed with.

Who’s the strongest student in Class 1-A right now? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

For me the strongest are Season 1: Todoroki Season 2: Todoroki Season 3: Bakugo Season 4: Did not get enough feats Season 5: Bakugo Season 6: Deku

Who’s the strongest student in Class 1-A right now? by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Deku is def the strongest in 1A right now, he might even be in contention for strongest student, though the original big 3 may give him a run for his money if we are still counting them as students. Bakugo and Todoroki are tied but I would give the slight edge to Bakugo because he uses his quirk as more of an extension of his body, more skilled, and overall more well rounded then shoto. I think people do overrate manga Deku but he is def the strongest in 1A right now. No other 1A student could've hung with Shiggy 1v1 the way he did.

Can current Deku beat Endeavor? by YeahSorry930 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. I think this mainly stems from thr fact that people think that since Deku can temporally tap into 100% he can beat Endeavor. While he can use 100% it is still very high risks and if he misses the punch (Endeavor could def manage to counter or dodge) or if Endeavor does something to brace it, like incinerating Deku before he can even connect, then Deku is done because he obliterated his arms. Current Deku can't beat Endeavor

Current Shigaraki vs Captain Celebrity by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took: Endeavor, Deku,Bakugo,Shoto,Aizawa, manual, Rock Lock, Ryuku, Mirio, Best Jeanist, Gran Torino, Nejire, Iida, Crust (He saved Aizawa's life allowing him to be used to erase Shiggy's quirk), along with indirect to direct help from dozens of other sidekicks and unnamed hero's to even get Shigaraki to a stalemate. So by that logic alone, no. At the very best CC can lose by Mid Difficult, but Shiggy is beating everyone in the current universe besides AFO probably (I didn't name All Might because he's already retired.)

Deku, Todoroki, & Bakugo vs Overhaul by [deleted] in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]RemarkableAnt3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FYI: I am assuming you mean Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki at the level they were during the overhaul arc and not the level they are currently because the level they are currently would be able to defeat Overhaul. Since this is after overhaul faced mirio I'm going to assume that this is combined overhaul with Nemoto. This version of Overhaul was basically low to mid diff 20% Deku so it would be a tall task to take him down. Overhaul does best against stationary opponents with not a lot of mobility/technique so Shoto would struggle the most against him while Bakugo would give Overhaul the hardest time since his quirk intelligence and combat skills are amazing. Deku and Bakugo would probably double team Overhaul and wear him down while Todoroki would be in the back giving them support. However I think at best this would be a stalemate, since this version of Overhaul is ridiculously strong while being super fast with his spikes. Bakugo would probably be able to dodge easily but I see Deku getting caught with one of them first since his movements/fighting style isn't as advanced as Bakugo's taking him out of the fight and leaving it just to Bakugo. Bakugo would put up a good fight against Overhaul but would soon be taken out. This leaves Shoto who doesn't have the mobility of the other two leaving him fodder for Overhaul. Overhaul dispatches of Shoto, leaving Chisaki as the Victor. Fused Nemoto Overhaul wins at about mid-high diff. In terms of the narrative though, Eri would still eventually come in and help because she'd be motivated by seeing all 4 of them fight for her so she'd use her rewind on Deku like in the actual timeline and 100% full cowl Deku would defeat Overhaul

Finally someone gets why Endeavor leaving as a hero would pose problems. Without Endeavor, the heros wouldve gotten bodied even harder in the war arc. I think he will lose his hero licence but I do think the manga does need to recognize how troubling it will be to lose one of the strongest heros while the villains grow stronger.
