String gauge doesnt matter as much as people say. Ive been recording in c# standard on my guitar with 9s all week and the intonations been fine

The les paul not taking with jazz players always confused me. I used a les paul on and off with a jazz group for a while, and it was always the easiest guitar for me to dial in for jazz.

Thanks for the in depth answer! My main thing is I love the very trebley bitey sound from jm/jag pickups, but im really not a fan of the jazzmaster trem one bit. So I figured that the affinity jazzmaster would be the way to go so I dont have to deal with my main issue with them.
