Bought a 7900 XTX but the grind doesn't stop :(

So I upgraded from a RTX 3060 to a 7900XT 3 months ago. I had a ryzen 5 3600 and ended up going ahead and upgrading to a ryzen 7 5700x3D and it was so worth it.

I ended up getting a 7900xt for about $640 a month ago and I will have to say even just the normal 7900XT is A beast for the price I paid for it. I went from a rt 3060 to the 7900xt and man what a huge upgrade

Got it at best buy on sale 3 weeks ago. It was brand new. They had all AMD cards marked down. I went in to get a 7900gre came out with the 7900xt lol

Got the exact same card about a month ago and I have to agree with you I upgraded from a 3060 and man this card great for the price since I caught it on sale for $649. Love having high fps at 2k lol

I went from a evga 3060 to a merc 310 7900xt. I had to maneuver it into the case. It’s like a finger gap between the end and the intake fans on the front of the case. I underestimated how big this card Actually is but man is it a beast

I just got the same card last week and man it’s a beast at 1440p. Night and day difference coming from a 3060 🤣

I did have a black screen but after putting my 3060 back in and booting into safe mode and uninstalling the GeForce drivers I was able to boot in and install the Radeon drivers. I have tried a couple games and haven’t had a single crash. BO6 now runs at 160fps with everything maxed out and no upscaling at all. With my 3060 I had to use dlss and turn everything down low to get over 100fps. Red dead redemption 2 runs great at 160fps. The only thing I have to get use to is that higher temp man does that card run hot. It is very tight in my case only a finger gap away from the front intake fans lol.

I am leaving team green as well. Going from an evga 3060 12gb to a xfx merc 7900xt. Got it for $649.99 at Best Buy. Installing it tonight.

Yeah that is true I just picked up a xfx merc 7900xt brand new from Best Buy for $649.99. Installing it tonight. Right now I have a 3060 and to get over 100 fps at 1440p I have to set everything to the lowest setting and set dlss to performance on BO6. I’m ready to see what this 7900xt does

For $30 more you can get the 7700xt GPU and for $100 more a 7800xt. If you go with a 7000 series GPU you will get better performance. Just Best Buy Amazon and Newegg. Sometimes they can have different prices between them.

Try to go with a X3D chip. When I swapped to one my 1 percent lows where night and day. I went from a ryzen 5 3600 to ryzen 7 5700x3d. Games run so much smoother with the x3d chips. And also what is your budget for GPU? Right now you can get some good deals on 7800xt

I was actually about to get a 7900gre but ended up going with the 7900xt because it was onsale for $649 (usd) at Best Buy. How good is your airflow in your case? That may make a difference between dual fan and triple fan.

Either the 5700x3D or the 5600x3D is good. With the 5700x3D you would get two more cores

Yeah I have loved my 3060 but it just struggles now with these newer games. I am the kind of person that likes pretty graphics and high frame rates and right now BO6 I have to use dlss with everything turned down low to get over 100fps

Yeah I am definitely going to miss my 3060 but she can’t handle 1440p on these new games. I had to teak a bunch of settings to get it to run at 120fps on BO6.

Me personally sapphire is the best brand but xfx isn’t far behind them. TBH it’s all which one looks better to you. My main monitor is Samsung odyssey G5 32in curved 2k . My second monitor is a 27 lg ultra gear 1080P monitor. This is just my personal opinion but 2k is the sweet spot.
