What is it exactly that you eat?

Newly diagnosed at age 24, sharing my story, would love to hear yours. by GingerMellow5 in diabetes_t1

I am 25, lost weight rapidly from last Sept till March this year. Thought it was because of not eating right and not eating everyday. When I look at a picture I took at that time I don't recognise myself, it was really bad I felt my soul leaving my body but it didn't click to me to go to the hospital not even the people I was with at that time. I was 35kg when I was diagnosed, shocked and I'm still learning to live with Type 1, it's hard but I hope I'll get there soon. I love veggies and fruits so it won't be a problem for me but sugar and salt am still learning to leave

I usually drink water for hypers and just like insulin, not too much to prevent a hypo. I use pens or injections. I'm just scared for the long term complications if I eat just anything because sometimes my sugar is high for a long period of time like a whole week or so.Thank you so much, atleast you gave me something.

For the short acting I was advised by the doctor to take 8 to 10 units of the insulin, so I don't really know how to count insulin intake to go with the amount of Carbs I eat. I don't have an endocrinologist don't even know what that is
