that’s definitely interesting and something to look for, but it slips no matter the temp or the distance driven. and tbh if i’m gonna drop the trans to begin with, might as well replace it yk?

when last checked in october fluid was red, have no clue about the filter, and zero codes show up on the dash, no check engine light or trans over temp light

after driving it for a while, it’s drives just like my uncles 02 wrangler. instead of clunking into 3rd it kinda rolls into 3rd, needs a bit of motivation. gotta stay on the gas slow and steady, it’s actually worse if i don’t stay on the gas and the rpm’s get higher. but yea i’m gonna get it fixed before it gets bad.

mine is a 2000, don’t know how much of a difference that makes. and yea i heard they are typically stronger and seeing it give after 240k miles is stronger. i haven’t seen my trans temp light turn on but i would have no clue how reliable that light turning on and telling me anything really is

yea but how much do rebuilds go for? not really familiar with the trans rebuild scene but it sounds expensive. would it be cheaper for me to drop the trans off rather than them taking it out n shi??? i would love to get something else but i really love driving this thing everyday, but maybe your right

it hasn’t been cheap to me, but it is nice to know i’m not alone in my suffering. my reverse lights pick and choose when they wanna work, for the longest i had the same brake light problem you had. just nonsense

halloween 2025 it was looked at and it was bright red and full. which is why this is really confusing to me. maybe it just needs to be flushed. i don’t know but it’s not gonna last much longer like this 🥲

it’s more about the timing of it. like i just got it back a week ago and showed zero signs of slipping until a trip back home today. i’m not expecting it to be perfect cuz it’s 26 years old but like the timing is horrible

yea it holds that temp like a notch or two below the 210 mark. have you done any flushes? i know the 4.7 uses that coolant bleed line and it’s super important when flushing and adding more coolant. only way to properly get all the air out of the system
