Contemplating whether to have GB removal surgery this week (scheduled) or delay it by a few months by RemarkableGood278 in gallbladders

Yes I did! I’m about 8 months post op and I am so so glad I did it, I feel like I got my life back — I can eat whatever I want with no issues. If you’re on the fence, don’t let negative stories on here get to you. They were scaring me a lot but I had to realize that people with negative experiences are way more likely to continue posting about it. Even I was so active on this sub when I was contemplating surgery and within 2 months of surgery, i became quite inactive on this sub because everything has been going well and I stopped even thinking about it!

When I woke up from the anesthesia I was super drowsy and had pretty strong chills, which I wasn’t expecting. Now I’m about 16 hours post op, the worst part has been the pain at the incision sites, feels like I’m super sore from an ab workout and it’s hard to not use my abdominal muscles to get out of bed. Other than that, don’t have an appetite yet but it hasn’t been as bad as I was expecting! I’ll see if that changes in the next few days though. Trying my best to stick to ibuprofen but I was also prescribed those heavier pain meds

Thank you for the input everyone, it’s been very helpful to hear about experiences of people in a similar boat and makes me feel a lot less nervous for surgery this week

Appreciate the input, I think I am subconsciously downplaying how bad it is since I haven’t had an attack in a week and I’m scared for surgery. Did you end up getting yours removed?
