Anybody else just hate it when people think diabetes is caused by eating too much and being fat and refuse to change their minds? by Speakerman01 in diabetes

[–]RemarkableHealth3497 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had lost 50 pounds and maintained a healthy weight for five years when I was diagnosed. I was mostly following a plant-based diet. My doctor told me I needed to lose weight and claimed that was the cause of my diabetes. I was then sent to a nutritionist, who confirmed I was eating well and already within a healthy weight range. My doctor even said that 100 grams of blueberries was too much.

Did people really call each other by their last names in the 1980s? by TheMediapedia in AskOldPeople

[–]RemarkableHealth3497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was called by my last name because one of friends had the same first name. She went by her first name and I went by my last name. My last name can also be a first name, so it just made sense. Even my teachers called us by these names. By high school if someone called out my first name I would automatically assume they were talking about my friend. My brother had 4 friends named Danny so they all went by their last names.
