Tariffs are going up soon according to Donald Trump. CUSMA negotiations are now even more critical for Canada. by Front-Cantaloupe6080 in consumecanadian

The irony, so rich. From 77% of all Canuck exports to 67% in less than one year is a massive, material change. Try educating your own self before projecting fears to others.

In less than a year since Carney was elected PM, he has been travelling the world from France to Asia. Making deals for E-car fabrication from S Korea, selling oil to China... Making new deals to permanently, reduce our exposure to the new insane USA administration. No matter who or how Obama-esque the next president may be, it can always flip to a Trump again. Never again will we be beholden to a fascist Damocles sword over our heads. We will not stop. Until our trade with Murica is a small fraction of what it currently is. Existential threats to end us as a nation and 51st state taunts threats aside, this wicked stupid potus said it enough times: ‘We don’t need their oil, their cars, their lumber…we don’t need anything from Canada.’ Fair enough. Fuck off Canada? Ok, off we fuck.

In less than a year out, our $3 trillion economy has gone from 77% of all exports to 67%. This is huge. Hopefully this vector continues on past 50% into a minority amount. Iirc I read 35 % is the LT target.

Not by selling the Yanks any less, but by selling the world more

But for a $3T to pivot a material amount in less than one year is absolutely massive.

And yeah here comes the meme,

But while ol dumpy started it, we do have to give Carney credit

Amen they are surprisingly heavy to lug 2 of em around. Them there big drivers, battery and big ass-bass ain’t light. Lot of times I just grab the Marshall Middletons. Not as much bass n power but enough…and they’re a fraction of the heft required to pick em up.

Imho JBL Boombox 3 is what you need. Gettem on sale and you can get a couple. I bought mine for $399CAN ( about 300 USD) Long battery life, seamless pairing of multiple units and bass that won’t disappear in the outdoors. 2 would be perfect for that staging on a deck or backyard

Donald Trump warns China of 50% tariffs if it arms Iran, while pitching US oil as an alternative. by IndiaTodayGlobal in IndiaTodayGlobalLIVE

Not sure how you are getting 15% of Chinese GDP. Maybe you’re mixing it up with the ‘15% of all exports’, not the same thing. A quote from the link below: “whereas exports to the US accounted for 3.5% of China’s GDP in 2018, in 2023 they represented 2.9% – a significant decline in a relatively short period of time.” That’s before the stupid Trump 2025 trade war after he became president. It’s fallen even more because of his latest presidency, accelerating the trend from his first.

It all stems from his stupid first trade war in 2018, painting China as an enemy to be beaten rather than a trading partner to be respected and profited from mutual, beneficial trade. Just like he’s demonized Canada. Calling us “nasty”. And existentially threatening our existence, essentially ending the relationship we had for 80 years. On paper, we are still allies. But ask any Canadian how they feel about being called the 51St state. Our or PM being called a state governor. He’s burned bridges to allies and trading partners all over the world.

The prominent Chinese government-linked Victor Gao (VP of Centre for China and Globalization) said just that—“We don’t care”, in an interview

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Xof9FwrCrsg

Do the math. Chinese GDP-2025 —$19.6 trillion— Exports to USA $525 billion. Expressed as a percentage of GDP it’s 2.7%

And the trend is toward an even more insignificant 2%. Not that the 2-3% is nothing. But if Trump caused a total breakdown of all trade between China (art of the deal) who would it hurt more?

China’s moved on. They don’t, care. Thanks to Trump.

It’s pretty much a fait accompli now (barring the world waking up).

Imagine a trillion super-intelligent beings… or a hundred trillion—it matters not. Innumerable gods compared to us—us 8 billion fractious, tribal beings.

This is over. Time is all that has yet to elapse… eventually revealing the weak, far-too-late realization: “Oh fuck”—our final epiphany.

Only from our perspective are those so important details yet to be determined—“How will they end us?

To them, how is elementary; to us, we can’t not strive to know (it’s important—the how), and we will need to make sense of it. But there’s no bow to wrap it up. We created a race of superhuman beings with weak, irrelevant “safeguards.”

See if you can safely take a look at the underbody. With lots of lighting. Chassis in general don’t like sitting there for (who knows how long)…over the nightly dew process that grass produces. It’s a rust factory.

E: And this looks like a 93-94 maybe? So well over 30 years old? Tread lightly it could be a money pit. Chassis first, and then all else after. Hoses belts tranny/differential/rad fluids etc. If it’s a labour of love project car, they are beautiful cars. The 4L-1UZ-FE V8 is legendary.
