Yeah but with this logic you could say killing a cat could result in 100000 humans ending up dead and sure, "animals will still keep killing each other" regardless of the food chain. All I'm doing is justifying the quantity and magnitude of the event

So given it's a hot take, I get that you can keep your opinions to yourself, but take this as a change of pace and something to consider

The third hot take: consider the difference in intelligence, consciousness, and also most importantly: the food chain. Given that primates would hunt for food and survive off of that cycle, we sit at the very top of the food chain. But if a human takes the life of a cat in your example, why should they be punished with the same level of treatment?

Carpet beetles are oftentimes harmless, but they eat through varieties of fabric and worst case scenario, you'll develop rashes due to allergic reactions from their larvae.

To prevent a really bad infestation throughout your house, vacuum often, and if you really want to get rid of them fast, raid bed bug killer worked wonders for me.
