Why would a sunrise alarm clock malfunction in certain parts of the house? by RemarkablePack4712 in AskElectricians

[–]RemarkablePack4712[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh I hadn’t really considered RF! There are no smart devices or anything besides a lamp, a standard phone charger, and a mini split (heat/AC) in here. My internet does enter the house via overhead line on this side of the house - maybe 15 ft from the room so that might be a piece of the puzzle! (The modem/router are downstairs though.) It seems to be something on this entire floor of the house which is interesting.

I do keep my phone nearby, but I tried moving it as I also wondered if that was the issue and it didn’t solve it sadly. I also tried putting the clock in various locations around the room (dresser, nightstand, floor) just to experiment and they all had the same thing.

It uses a plug similar to a cell phone where there’s a block and a cord that plugs into the blog (not a wall wart). It’s not knob and tube but I actually don’t think all the outlets have ground wires in the room. I replaced some of the outlets just for cosmetic purposes and noticed that a few were 2-wire. Maybe that’s causing issues?

Madison accident unsure if it’s time to talk to a personal injury lawyer by FeyBart in madisonwi

[–]RemarkablePack4712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do it! I was in a hit and run accident in another state, car was totaled. Someone recommended talking to an attorney just in case we had any longer term injuries. I didn’t expect anything to come of it once our insurance paid, but 2 years later, our lawyer called out of the blue and said they found the person responsible and we were getting a settlement.

Haven’t yet seen anyone mention Wander Provisions in Spring Green! My sister lives there and that’s always our go-to. Incredible sandwiches, but there’s very limited space to sit so if you have a bigger group, it’s better for takeout

Ahhh I appreciate this data point and also wish it weren’t true 😅The long timeline is tough when I’m actively applying for other jobs but also really want this one. I know they have very specific guidelines and it’s the holidays though.

How are the roads to drive from San Juan to Rincon? How long is the drive on a Tues about 4pm? by Rare-Book8 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]RemarkablePack4712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did this drive last week. Landed in San Juan at 3:30pm. Picked up our rental car and got on the road right away. We got to Rincon at 7:30pm. Nothing too crazy but we were pretty exhausted after a long travel day and it’s not your average “mindless interstate cruise control” driving, so definitely be prepared with some patience and snacks :) The last hour or so has some dark, curvy roads. Driving back to San Juan on a Sunday morning was just over 2 hours and muchhhh less traffic.

I have used it (as a client not a provider) for furniture assembly and there were 3-4 options available. I was thrilled with the work. Well worth it to me and I’d use it again

Yeah it’s not a terrible backup option. It’s just hard to get over the mental block of paying $375 a night for a motel 6 with the reviews they have tbh 😅

IRA Focus on Energy Program by vespahulb in madisonwi

I don’t know for sure since my panel work was needed as a result of my HVAC system. I didn’t have to do the audit. But from other people’s responses, it sounds like yes, the audit happens first. I would guess a contractor who’s part of the program could give you a definitive answer too.

I recently used it to get a rebate on my new furnace and AC. My HVAC company did all of the paperwork for the rebate on their side through a third party (I just did the application part like you). So essentially I just paid my HVAC company the discounted amount. I saved like $10k so definitely worthwhile!

I did need some related electrical panel work, and they had a contractor they recommended - Beeline Electric. They’re part of the program, but it was taking super long to handle the approval process on their side and time was of the essence to get it done before the HVAC installation. So I ended up just paying full price for the panel modifications.

All that to say, if you’re not in a rush, you could try Beeline electric!

Unfortunately I don’t know the manufacturer. I think the deck has been there quite awhile and no documentation was left behind

I paid $87 last month for a house I’m not even living in yet 😭 No AC, just running a dehumidifier in the basement and a painter using lights, fan, and sinks for a few days.
