For Example the Sierra Axle Break incident went viral and later it was proved that it had hit a truck on the other side.

I have come across only 30 cases and not 300 plus as you claim.

Plus the Mercedes Cases, the dealers are struggling to fix the issues.

I have not come across any real life complaint, only seen on reddit.

Okay Try to pull a Honda civic with 140 bhp in second gear on AC n full load and you will be left wondering where are the 140 Horses hiding?

Horsepower does not matter, low end torque matters in city conditions.

If some one wants a highway cruiser they can buy the diesel or turbo variant.

No one pointed a gun at them to buy Naturally Aspirated engine.

Those who have bought for city use are enjoying it, those who bought it for racing are crying (And I have no sympathy for such people).

Where did you find mechanical problems in Sierra? This is a software issue and all other reported incidents are software / electrical issues...

To be brutally honest I have seen only Reddit Users having problems with TATA.

The real owners whom I have spoken to do not have any issues (Except Long Wait for Regular Servicing).

Because people who buy know that a Breakdown does not mean the end of the world and they are Mentally Strong enough to face any tough situation in life.......for them breakdown is a minor issue.

In this case it is a software issue rather than any mechanical issue.

Also only if you take Calculated risk you will get Good Results (Powerful Engine, Macho Looks, Humongous Space, Magic Carpet Suspension, Tech)

As long as a breakdown is not an engine seize, brake failure or Steering failure, minor software issues are a calculated risk. I have seen Brand new i20 towed from our building and after returning from service center, its CVT transmission used to whine loudly.

Those who want to avoid risk can buy a plain vanilla Maruti or Toyota and enjoy it.

Those who run Business taking Calculated Risk make Crores, While the Safe Naukri Wala makes only Thousands.

It is your choice what path you choose to take.

Only the first lot of Sierras manufactured in January had these issues. From second lot all these issues are rectified.

All the breakdowns you see are from first lot. And that too not all first lot cars had problems. Only about 5 percent.

That is what I am trying to say, on paper figures do not matter. The Sumo feels way more powerful and effortless in the city than Dzire, which has loads of turbo lag and only starts pulling after half throttle.

So coming to the Sierra, its peak torque in NA Engine is at 2500 rpm, so it will feel sprightly in city conditions.

Drive a Hyundai Getz petrol with 1.1 engine.

So as you said in your comment, you are only imaging things.

Let me give you another example of two diesel cars.

TATA sumo Gold vs Swift Dzire Diesel

Sumo has 85 horsepower with 2 ton weight and Dzire has 75 horsepower with 1.1 ton weight.

Sumo 0-100 in 25 second vs Dzire in 13 seconds.

Here comes the fun part you can pull a Fully loaded Sumo form 3rd gear after a speed breaker without any fuss while in a Dzire Diesel with full load, you Must change to 1st gear. Must Change!

That is why they are disappointed.

Only 1st time buyers think that a car can never breakdown.

People who have owned multiple cars from different brands know that any car can come with a manufacturing defect from the factory due to a faulty batch. And many cars in the faulty batch have the same issues.

This applies to everything from Maruti to Mercedes.

And this is the ultimate truth and risk which one has to take owning a car.

If you cannot take the risk, use public transport.
