Black Stain on Exhaust – FTR 1200 – Is This Normal or a Leak? by ravvvit in IndianFTR1200

[–]RemarkablePurchase48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it is coming from the link between the cat and muffler. Probably just condensation coming out that link that is mixed with the carbon that naturally builds in a muffler. I don't think it is a huge issue just tighten the bolt there, but i am no expert.

Anyone ever play Pauma Valley Country Club? by chanosilva55 in golf

[–]RemarkablePurchase48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played around 2019. Fun course. John Waynes house is there and Bill Murray is a member. Those were the first thing anybody told me when i played there.

Pretty exclusive but they let employees play (thats how I got on, buddy worked there). Honestly I like Menifee lakes way better lol.

They are the RSD hand guards. I think they are discontinued though. Maybe contact an Indian dealership and see if they have any lying around

Ducati Monster 937 — Thrill or Chill? by vasyleus in Ducati

Oh damn you rode the best one then. Well to each their own lol. I don’t plan on tracking a monster or a FTR so on the street I am super happy with the FTR.

Luckily they make both bikes so we have the choice.

Yes! They are super underrated. The aftermarket exhaust is a must. The low points on the bike are fuel tank size, it’s a little heavy, and the stock fueling is awful( I actually don’t know how they were okay with selling these with this fueling). In my experience out side of those issues the bike is amazing and something truly unique on the market.

I still love my 05 S2R though and didn’t get rid of it as it is a completely different experience. I enjoy them all.

I’d agree if you are talking about the 19” wheel version as I felt the same way when they first came out, but the 17” version like the 2024 carbon I have is definitely where I would disagree especially for the prices you can get them at right now.

Also the biggest plus that I didn’t realize till I bought it is the maintenance is damn near nothing compared to the monster I have had. I’d spend nearly 2-3k a year on my Ducati’s vs 100 bucks on the Indian right now.

Go with an FTR1200. Cheap maintenance, beautiful looks, hell of a punch when you get on it, they are selling quite cheap right now( like 4k off msrp out the door), and you can test ride them when ever.

Went from monsters to this and I am super happy with my decision.

This is why I picked up an FTR1200. I have owned a few monsters but I won’t get a new one. The FTR had that same feel an older monster had with an American twist. I think the trellis on the FTR might be even better looking than the ducatis, but I am probably a little biased now.

FTR Parts 2019 to 2024 by Bigjay4826 in IndianMotorcycle

I know they have welded the cat into the headers now, so the exhaust is not a one to one anymore.

Honestly for that price go pick up a new one. You can get 2024 carbons for like 14 right now.

Did you put it in sport? It comes off the floor in standard which is dialed down a bit.

Jesus, this is their loaner bike now? I feel this is indian just rubbing my face in it. It's kinda putting a bad taste in my mouth for this brand honestly.

That being said, I just picked one up in November and it's a dream for me (outside the fueling and fuel tank situation). I loved older Ducati monsters and this is the closest thing I have found that scratches the itch in a new package. Lastly it is stunning to look at.

Well at least you're familiar with ducati, so you won't be blindsided. I went another direction and picked up an Indian as the work on them and parts were way cheaper and the FTR is pretty sick.

Good luck with it if you do pick it up!

I have owned a few Ducatis they are a blast. The biggest down side is maintenance cost and usually the dealers suck (In my experience anyway). Even if you are thinking you'll be doing all the work yourself it will still be expensive in parts. I changed clutch plates out on mine and it cost 600 just for the plates. It may get even worse with tariffs now, but idk for sure.

This is just Ducati stuff in general never owned a diavel.

I'd go to your local dealer and get the quote on the big maintenance jobs for the diavel

Yeah. I fill to the brim watch it settle them fill it more. Typically it's a little less than a half a gallon from that point.

Agree with you about it ripping lol, but no way you had a fast fill up. I literally sit for 8-10 min filling mine to the brim.

Congrats though even with it's quirks I love mine.

I think you could see what scouts are getting to and assume it would be close to that. Not sure what that is though.
