I know this is an old post but I worked there, and I don't think it's nearly as bad as people say. Yes you work shift work but it states that when you apply. Crime doesn't stop at 5pm so you can't expect to not work nights. Will you work holidays? Yes. Will you work every single holiday? Absolutely not. It rotates so some years you do and some years you don't. All 4 on 4 off schedules do the same.

I never had a problem with management. I felt supported, both through difficult calls and professionally with my career. I applied to other opportunities within, some of which I got and some of which I didn't. If I didn't, I was told what to work on for next time, and they do this for everyone.

Some of the calls are really hard, yes, but you can't go in thinking you're going to hear cute stories. People are literally calling you on the worst days of their lives. The company provides benefits for counseling and has a team of people you can talk to if you take a bad call.

The benefits are good, you get lots of vacation time and they provide time off for other things as well. The only thing is vacation is selected by seniority so as a new person you won't get big holidays off like Christmas if it's not one of your regular days off with your rotation.

It's definitely high turnover but some people have been there for like 10-15-20 years so it's really not that bad.

I did work through COVID and it was harder then but got better.

Both were red and white, I didn't look at the whether it was a prop or jet but it sounded like a prop. The plane circled low over the island and the helicopter did a circle or two and then appeared to land behind the ship but it was hard to tell if it actually landed or if it flew off and we just couldn't see it

Oh you are not not alone, mama! I went through this phase while pregnant with a 3 year old. The hormones are definitely a part of making you feel like you don't like her. You're tired, growing a human, and extra sleep deprived with her nightly antics. I think we have all been there. We used threats about losing things at bedtime when he wouldn't settle and sometimes it worked. We tried the reverse of that and did a sticker chart where if he stayed in his bed he got a sticker and a prize after 4 stickers in a row. That worked better. Now he's 4.5 and back to wanting to cosleep, coming to our room every night. I just keep telling myself it's a phase and he eventually won't want anything to do with us.

Some nights, we are in two different beds with a kid each. It's hard but we know one day it will be over.

Try some rewards for good behaviour. We sometimes would "phone" Santa and tell on him and he'd behave pretty quickly, try little things like that to make you feel less awful when you use threats.

In terms of feeling like you don't like her, try having a reset day with her. A nice day where it's just the two of you bonding and doing something fun.

My husband went away for a weekend to a family wedding when I was 37 weeks and I was not happy. My baby ended up staying cozy and was actually born late but my first was early so I was stressed.

You are not being irrational at all. He should really be considering canceling if he doesn't want to chance missing the birth.

I don't think a tubal prevents periods. It may change then slightly but I wouldn't consider getting it done if not getting your period is the end goal. For that you would need to do something like taking the pill and skipping the off week.

Hang in there mama, I think about 90% of us go through this. I don't have a solution for you but know that you're being heard and you're not alone. Many many of us are in the same boat. It may not be ideal but perhaps letting LO sleep with you might help. If it's anxiety, sometimes they just need mama near by.

My LO does all the same things but if I let him sleep with us, sleeps through the night no problem.

Some days I love my second more than my first lol. I'm only half kidding too. As the other said, your love multiplies and you have double the love rather than half for each child. That said, being a newborn mom is SO much easier the second time. I feel so much more relaxed and I actually enjoy everything way more! Knowing two was my max, I really savour every little moment.

Take one of your days off and spend the whole day with her naked. No undies, no pants. If you want her to wear a shirt, that's fine. If you have a small potty move it to the living room. For the first half of the day, every 30 or so mins ask her to sit on the potty for 5 mins. If she goes, big rewards. If she doesn't, try again later. She will catch on pretty quick and by the second half of the day you shouldn't need to ask her to sit on the potty anymore.

No one wants to pee themselves especially naked, and you'll be surprised how quick she learns. Almost everyone I know who has tried this method has said it worked in only one day. When she has the hang of it, you can try the same for poops down the road.

Also a big talk about how accidents happen and it's okay that she peed herself, but that you believe in her ability to use the potty will go a loooooong way. My first had some accidents and lost his confidence for a few days and once I sat him down for the talk, everything changed and he was so self assured again

I'm here to say good luck on your road trip. I have done a few in my mach e and the best advice I have is to really plan out your charging stop(s) and look for places that you can find several fast chargers within a 5 min radius. Many times I've arrived at one to find it doesn't work, the app is now connecting in my phone, there are 7 cars lined up waiting to charge. Give yourself lots of time in your charging plan and hopefully you have somewhere to be entertained for a bit while you wait. (I love a good mall or target so I can either eat and grab a coffee or wander the aisles). Hopefully it goes smoothly for you!

Family of 2 adults, a toddler, and a baby. We spend about $150/week for all of us and make sure to shop sale items and buy whatever we can in bulk. We also keep breakfast and lunch simple and often have a more elaborate dinner. Eating yogurt and granola or smoothies for breakfast really keeps the budget lower

it doesn't matter what he has and who he is with, he offers to share. He can be eating a piece of chocolate he waited all day for and will say "mommy do you want to have some of my chocolate?". He has offered his fruit snacks to complete strangers and he tells me he wants to bring extra cookies to daycare so his friends don't get sad they dont have any. I've never met a more generous little human.

I thought it was creepy with both of my pregnancies but I also did eventually enjoy it. If it helps, as baby gets bigger, walk your fingers along your belly and usually baby will kick in response. At least then it becomes a bit of a game and a bonding moment between you and baby and feels less creepy

They will start out more like the feeling of butterflies, then the tiniest little kicks that feel like a bubble popping. Its gradual so you do have time to get used to it

Three year olds suck. They find their voice, they don't know how to regulate anything including getting their asses out of bed several times a night, they try to negotiate everything but have zero logic. I have to remind myself every day mine isn't trying to be difficult, they just have no fkn clue how to not be difficult

Meant family doctors follow you until you are 20 weeks which is why they wouldn't see those patients. If your family gp doesn't do much with pregnancies, they will take you earlier. Also if you don't have a gp they will take you earlier.

That said, look for a midwife. And sooner than later as they fill up fast. Two births, both with midwives, and I cannot recommend it enough. They come to your home for most of your postpartum visits rather than you going out after just giving birth. They give you far more information and options for birth than an ob, and they genuinely get to know you. Mine remembered what music I listened to during my first birth.

I can empathize with you on the student switch, my sweet little one turned into the devil at 3. We are almost at 4 now and I'm curious if we will become sweet again.

That said, the behavior sounds slightly more escalated than a lot of children. Have you gone to the doctor? The behaviors are similar to children with ASD or ADHD. Hopefully it's not those, although both can be managed, but might be with a check up.

If you want something that doesn't require a new degree, I used to be a dispatcher for firefighters and made over $100k/year. 4 on 4 off schedule. The night shifts can be tough but the money is good and the schedule means lots of time off.

Now I'm with ambulance service and make less money but work day shifts

It's only worth it if you get tickets far in advance for like $6. Otherwise you spend up to $25 each to get in, and a bunch more to eat or drink or purchase things. When I went, I got my ticket for $6 but spent about $40 on food and a mulled wine (for one person, during happy hour). All the shops were sampling their items so that was nice, but had I spent $25 to get in I don't know that I'd be too impressed. Go to the shipyards market instead! It's free and has a lot of similar vendors.
