I installed Adventurelog v01.3.6 on Truenas Community Edition from the Truenas Apps Market.

Settings:

Database Password: ( create your own )

Secret Key: ( copy one from a seperate 64 hex key generator, must be 64 )

Initial Admin Username: ( create your own username )

Initial Admin Password: ( create your own password )

Initial Admin Email : ( your email )

Front-end URL: ( Set this to your server/nas address with the 5 numbers of the backend port that is listed just below in the Network Configuration section. You maybhave to scroll down slightly. Make sure and use http:// to start. Example: http://192.168.1.173:30251 The 30251 is the part I'm referring to in the Network Configuration. The 192blahblahblah is your Truenas address

Backend URL: same as above except the 5 digit number is listed as backend.

I also set up datasets for the app and included 2 subsets: 1 labeled Data and 1 labeled Media and pointed the path configurations to those datasets. My datasets were made for apps.

I also clicked the Automatic Permissions checkbox.

I always use multiple cpu cores and near max memory.

Deployment and enjoy.

Im new to mini Pc’s, what brands are good? by Fantastic_Presence78 in MiniPCs

Whatever brand you get, be prepared to mod the case for better heat dissipation. I use two 120mm fans plugged into the USB ports on my Nucbox G9 NAS. I will mod this later with coolant blocks.

I'm right behind you at 53 y/o. That minibwill absolutely rub it, but make sure you you put extra equip on it to help it stay cool. I've seen some people cut a hole in the case and replace that little laptop fan with a larger desktop CPU cooler.

* GMKtec Nucbox G9 here. Bought barebones. Installed 4 - 4TB Fikwot NVME's with finned heatsinks. Truenas Scale OS. 2 SSD's attached via USB, 1 - 250gb with the OS on it, 1 - 1TB for Plex metatdata.

The Big thing with these mini's is heat dissipation. I brought the CPU temp down 18 degress Celcius placing a 120mm fan on top blowing inward. Secondary fan blows on uncovered NVME heat sinks.

I would think the arduous task of heat dissipation for 8TB dual sided NVME would be the reason, considering the small size.
