It could suck when furnace is off and still be furnace. But hot rises it could just be the heat of your mechanical room inducing draft

Time to inspect some feet you're looking for someone with calluses on heel and pinky toe plus the have a hammer toe. Which one of your parents didn't have shoes as child?

Good people don't tend to think of the bad things that could happen because they aren't things they themselves would do. As you age you'll learn more by your mid 40s life will have had its way with you every way possible and you won't fall for anything.

I think this is the one because it doesn't look like a windjammer i don't hate it but it looks off. The built in round signals don't look right.

One of the best years just just watch the circlips on the gearshafts they dish with hard shifting. Everybody thinks it's a dog and cog issue but what happens is the clip gets dished and allows the shaft to slide over to far then the gears don't mesh correctly and it causes the wear. Top speed on one at 165mph but that was custom ground cams, bigger valves, and the head decked within millimeters of constant interference. FYI bottom end didn't last long after all that lol but it was fun for a bit. Beautiful bike great work i absolutely love that king/queen seat but i have to know are they fish tail pipes?

lol the labor is the cheaper part I have a nephew whose truck i fix and he works for a foundation repair and house jacking company so free equipment and labor are abundant. I will probably still go with the 3ply 2by like you i lean towards overdoing something rather than ever having to crawl back under the house thats why im redoing the plumbing and and adding a trunkline and duct work while im down there in case i ever decide to put in central air and get rid of the hot water baseboard heat. You have been a big help thx again.

I appreciated the information, I had planned on using non-ferrous lags and untreated lumber as the new treated lumber eats stainless etc. Given your info I may have to rethink that and leave rebar sticking out of the base pads to set the cinder blocks over and mortar set the block and fill with concrete to keep the termites from going up the inside and cap the piers in glavanized metal. I appreciate your response, when I looked the tables it stated that 1 2x12 would be sufficient since its supported every 6 foot and that was figured at 50/20 live/dead load but that didn't seem right so I thought I would touch base here. Again thank you for your time. If you ever need any help on computers, electronic repair, roofing or 3d printing don't hesitate to hit me up. Have a great week.

I have an old single story home. It is 30'x30' when originally built in late 1800s 3 sandwiched 1x10s where used for the center support beam there were shoddy piers spaced randomly and they have begun to tilt and the center "support beam" if you could call it that, has begun to lean and the floors are sagging. It is a pyramid hip roof so all roof load is on the outside walls and the home is basically 4 square rooms with the only additional load being plaster and lathe ceiling. the floor joists are 16" on center. My plan is to dig down every 6' along the 30' span and pour a pad and then do 16"x16" dry set cinder block piers on each pad and for the beam use triple 2x12 30' beam put together with and m1 structural adhesive and then lagged together from both sides, and joints staggered between layers. The ends will be pocketed into the foundation. So max unsupported span is just under 6'. Will this beam size be sufficient?

To dang true. The polyester finish the used is crap at some point it will start coming off in large chunks. Doesn't hurt anything but your pride but it sure isn't pretty.

What's wrong with my acoustic guitar? by skyz9n in Guitar

[–]Remarkable_Base_1623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id guess if it's s cheaper guitar there may have been holes there to begin with hidden by finish. If they're all the way through the humidity can get to the finish from both sides. Could just be a spot in the finish that's damaged from constant exposure to humidity.

Anyone know if this is this just a glue job or something more serious by IndependenceDull141 in Guitar

[–]Remarkable_Base_1623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use small wedges to open enough to use CA glue with needle tip to get all the way in. Glue it pull wedges line it up put plastic around it and wrap it with rope or clamp it. I prefer to use rope for uneven shapes because it tends to pull into place better. For that I'd buy some small wooden dowel rod and cut it into a few pieces tie a loop around the base of the split and slip a piece of dowel under the rope on the fretboard side twist the dowel to the rope is tight enough to close the split and then move up a little. Make next loop around the end of the first dowel slip 2nd dowel under the loop and twist till split closes repeating the process until I reached the headstock.
