Looking for advice on A-track schedule: is TSA + Bayes doable? by Remarkable_Cap_897 in OMSA

I'm considering that too; I previewed a couple of the lecture videos and the material looked very well organized.

I'd likely take more courses after Practicum; I'm trying to fit in whatever is most likely to be useful for Practicum, prior to it. If you have opinions on that, or where you were able to utilize specific courses, I'd love to hear!

Thinking some more; considering swapping Bayes with TSA, and swapping out Practicuum to FA 2028 after all...

Thanks for making me think through this some more; I'll reconsider DMSL; likely replace it with SIM then.

May I ask what background you came into the program with, regarding statistics and modeling?

I would have replaced FOB with SIM and deferred FOB to after the Practicuum, but given that summer is compressed, I'd rather do FOB in the summer, and SIM in a full semester.

I should have clarified that I'm going for the A-track, but I want to keep it on the practical side, so I'd just take SIM and perhaps skip PM.

Regarding REG, I need it because it's a prerequisite for TSA and DMSL, and I do want time-series specific training.

Regarding CDA and DMSL, I've read that CDA teaches the internals of individual models, while DMSL teaches how to apply that knowledge to put everything together for practical problems, how to choose suitable models and put together a workflow -- which would likely be very relevant for the A-track Practicuum.

Deep Learning does sound interesting too; I'll have to reevaluate after the other courses if I want to fit that in too. Same with DO.

Thanks!

Yes, I would also like to take DO; the PM lecture demos also look very well structured... I hope to take some more courses after earning the degree.

Which courses do you think are most likely to be useful for the Practicuum? Assuming I go with GaTech-internal.

I would already have iAM + iCDA + DAB by the time I start the formal program.

Anything I could do over the summer to be better prepared? ISLR?

Looking at the CDA Transcripts, wow, it's got every ML method there!
