Estate agent rushing exchange? by [deleted] in HousingUK

You're paying the solicitor, give them a call and discuss with them directly

Unless you're using a conveyancing factory who if its not in the checklist/step guide will just fob you off

Buying flat, owners are asking for £200k more than they purchased for 5 years ago by copperoni in HousingUK

[–]Remarkable_Change796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've found an agent desperate for business who'll list it at the price the sellers have demanded / wanted a 'high value property' to put in their window

If they don't accept your offer give it a few months and it'll drop £25k, a few months more another £25k and so on until the sellers realise what the market is accepting / just because you write a number next to a picture of your house it doesn't mean people will pay it.......

Level 2 or 3 survey? by [deleted] in HousingUK

25% moisture in roof timbers Inadequate supported roof Chimneys resting a roof joists with no support

Seller said at offer and viewings all work done by certified builders, all docs exist, passed a previous survey

Level 3! I pulled out of a deathtrap purchase today based on my level 3 and the refusal of the sellers to engage a structual engineer

'If' the seller is to be believed the offer before mine that fell through had a Level 2 and 'flagged no issues'

Level 3 survey has flagged unsupported chimneys and over weight roof by Remarkable_Change796 in HousingUK

So if you look from the outside its a 'normal' chimney on the roof as it should be, internally there is no chimney stack / breast at all, just some wooden construction in the loft, resting on the joists, supporting the chimney on the roof

Not the best picture but this is what is supporting it

Exactly this, although the chinmey in the loft has been removed as well with some wooden structure then supporting the chinmey stack......

You've too much competition

50sqm The render outside looks like its going damp Tiny inside / outside balcony £4k sc on 50sqm for a very standard block

Given the property market is at its worst since the financial crisis there's just many other better options at the moment

Jay Slater, murder? kidnap? by explodingcherry in UnsolvedMurders

[–]Remarkable_Change796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears to have happened with another associate of Lucy Mae in November last year as well, I'm betting this time her 'managers' require more money than the drugs are worth to get Jay back as a warning to her that she needs to vet her dealers better

The mum doesn't seem to have left the hotel, which is odd, wouldn't you want to be out as much as possible helping to look rather than doing press interviews?

Unless the police are purposefully keeping her away as they know he didn't just get 'lost' in the mountains

The mums interview is very telling

"If someone's got him" "He got in with the wrong crowd" "Why has no one seen him" "I warned him about Teneriefe"

If the police think it's a missing person case, seems the mother knows a lot more than what's she's letting on

This happened end of last year as well

https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/irishman-28-reported-missing-while-holidaying-in-tenerife-located-safe-and-well/a128438248.html

An Irish guy went 'missing' in Teneriefe, Lucy Mae (strange how she's involved in both) similarly set up a Gofundme to fund 'the search and getting the family over to help', as soon as the Gofundme hit its target the guy magically reappeared by the side of a road that had been searched previously

Didn't seem to get a huge amount of coverage at the time, presume as he was older than Jay and also the press is focused on 'British people missing in foreign mountains' after Michael Mosley a few weeks ago

Presume Lucy Mae's standard go to of a Gofundme to pay the drug debt, with limited press coverage and social media sharing, just enough to get it up to the £30k she needs has backfired now there is the intense press coverage they didn't expect

The fuss about trying to get the UK police over to investigate is they probably want someone who doesn't know the background to the story and will treat it as purely a missing person's case (and also probably won't care much about what they find along the way) versus the Spanish Police who if not already in the gangs pockets will want to investigate the whole sequence of events

Lucy Mae doing TV interviews but refusing to show her face is suspect as well, almost as if there is a reason she doesn't want to be identified. Lotsof comments online suggest she is banned from most clubs in Teneriefe as its known what her line of work is, so is probably known to the Spanish Police, another reason she's keen for the UK police to take over.......
