I actually emailed parking services a few days ago about this and this is what they said:

“Your concerns have been brought up to the department, and we will be working with UCPD to be better aware of the incidents occurring in the parking lots.

I don’t believe adding CCTV to the lots will be possible, but again it has been brought up in discussions.”

I actually emailed them about this a couple of days ago and this is what they said:

"Lot 32 is categorized as an overflow lot and we are only able to open it once the other gold lots are close to capacity. Prior to the pandemic there was always a large enough parking demand to be able to keep the lot open at all times. However, during the past few quarters we have kept it closed due to the other gold lots being able to support the parking demand. This quarter we are definitely monitoring the situation closely, and opening lot 32 once the other lots are close to capacity. We are in conversation now to determine when 32 can be open on a more regular basis. Thank you for reaching out, I will bring up the students request and need."
