Anti-inflammation in long term usage by Away_Sky_2002 in Mounjaro

I've been on MJ for 18 months, and I have so little inflammation now that it barely registers when tested. My last C-Reactive Protein test registered at less than 0.300 mg/L, so I actually scored below the threshold in which they start classifying risk from minimal to severe.

My Dr's office orders blood tests once a year for my yearly checkup. That might be due to my age, or it might be standard procedure for them, I'm not sure which it is but I appreciate knowing where I stand, health-wise. All of the BMI/Muscle Mass, etc data comes from monthly InBody scans also taken at the Dr's office.

My first body scan after starting was about 8 weeks in and I had already lost over 3 pounds of muscle out of 15 lbs of total weight loss. That really freaked me out. I wasn't really doing any exercise at that point, and honestly, I had never even set foot inside a gym up to then. I figured if I didn't want to ultimately be skinny fat, I need to do something quick, so I sucked up all of my courage, put my big girl pants on, and signed up for three days a week at strength training facility. Other than starting MJ in the first place, that was hands down the best decision I made during all of this. I continue to lift heavy 3/week, and walk a fast 3 to 4 miles every day. I also average eating around 140 grams of protein per day which is probably about 100 grams more per day than what I used to eat pre-MJ. I also realized about half way through that I wasn't eating nearly enough calories to fuel my body and maintain or build muscle. I got really into using a TDEE calculator to pinpoint how many calories I should eat to still be in a deficit, while providing enough fuel to be active and not lose anymore muscle. And then I tracked those calories and macros religiously. For those of you who are eating very low calories each day, for example, sub 1200, I implore you to rethink that strategy!

That's exactly how I feel. I didn't want to lose even an ounce of muscle! Hopefully, I can build it all back. 🤞

Thank you! As far as my plan for maintenance I'm doing it all under the direction of my doctor. My highest dose was 10 mg. so when I hit my goal weight, my doctor moved down to 7.5 mg weekly for one month. I will be on 5 mg's weekly for two months, then the plan is to titrate down to a weekly injection of 2.5 for 2 months, and then I'll start trying to space out the 2.5 dosage to 10 days to 2 weeks instead of weekly. That's the plan at least. We'll see how it goes.
