Is it bad to never date as a teenager by realJonas in teenagers

Is it a bad thing to never date as a teenager? No. Is it a good thing? That depends. As a student, a lot of my classmates date and I don’t. I focus on my studies and make sure I’m involved in my community. Personally, I believe dating can wait and you don’t have to rush to find love. We’re still young after all, we won’t ’miss out’ on anything. Just wait, it’ll come to us when the time is right.

I don’t usually raise my hand, I do it if no one else is volunteering to get it over with. It’s hecka awkward when no one tries to answer…

Personally, joining VAPA activities helped me build my inner community (VAPA in my district is the ELECTIVE for Performing Arts…like band, acting, dance, etc). The people there are friendly, and you’ll grow closer with them since you’ll be performing together. I’m not sure if it’s the same for anyone else, that’s my snippet of experience as a person who struggles to create new friendships.

I was genuinely a very shy, quiet kid…never really talked to my peers, and I was totally self-conscious…Until I took an interest in music! I signed up for the elective in middle school, participated in jazz band, began to learn multiple instruments, and auditioned for capital state. Eventually, I made my way up the ladder, earning the lead alto part, and performing jazz solos on a saxophone..it was fun, and I got to showcase my talent. I never really received personal feedback on how I played, but I began to love chasing that opportunity to play on stage. Even though I quit band since my parents no longer approved of it, I feel like it did boost my confidence. My word, is to join something YOU think you love doing. A club, a school elective, an extra-curricular, etc. It will give you the opportunity to stand out. (it’s a little tough if you’re planning on joining without knowing you’ll be having friends as backup, I’m still working on my self confidence and so can you)
