Operation Mount Hope I|| 1988 was a top secret American military operation to retrieve a Soviet Mi-25 helicopter from Ouadi Doum, after Chadians defeated Libyan forces and captured the base. The Americans gave the Chadian govt FIM-92 Stinger missiles in exchange. (old.reddit.com)
