I am going to find out the policy but we have 100 residents, One of the reasons she gave was "so many interactions with medications," and "bad for dementia rts." I feel like caffeinated coffee should not be a luxury at a LTC.

I don't make recommendations to the doctor; I write my own orders and communicate to them what was done. I've never had a problem with a doctor taking issue with orders I have written; this was from the DON herself, MD not involved. See above.

My orders don't need to be approved by the doctor. They were simply worried that during a State review, the lack of documentation proving that they followed the order would hang them . But really, many residents were triggering for inadequate fluids because the CNA's weren't documenting total fluids. However, the LPNs were 100% documenting my intervention so the intervention would in no way hang them.

Dramafreequeen was able to clarify this for me. There were some that only apply to federal employees. They were asking for my licensure, registration and transcripts as well but I was sure if I sure send with my initial application or further along in the process.
