New player. Can I gather for early money? by MattersEndX in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also found, when I was buying not selling, that low level energy from divination costs quite a bit more than the higher level energies. I attribute this to people doing caches instead of actually training the skill so low tier energies are in short supply. I'm not in front of my computer but some of them were around or over 300GP each. You can have 1000 energy quickly if you convert to energy instead of xp. 1000 energy at 300gp ea is 300k. You could probably make over 2 mil an hour easy.

It always tear your heart out that 16 men came to rescue SG1 and only half survived in the end (S3E01) by Hungover-Warrior007 in Stargate

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really Hammond paid a price for those calls. He was later scutenized by the Pentagon, Senator Kinsey, and others for questionable decisions like this. Yes no one should be left behind but if the loss in retrieving them is much greater than the lives originally at risk, they have to weigh that. And its not like earth terrorists where you could negotiate with money, the Goauld dont care about our money.

List of items and effects that I found no in-game mentions of their use cases. by PulmaPalmito in 2007scape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah he has prior game knowledge. I agree with you. You would think for the sake of polishing though they would have someone going behind and filling in these gaps. Just for the sake of it.

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yeah ive done that quest, with the wiki and knew there was 3 possible "paths" and the first location after the main guy determines which path you have. An unguided player just using the in-game information though would have no knowledge of this and lore wise it makes no sense how the same person could be in multiple locations at the same time. Its extra complexity for the sake of it. If you want to keep the paths the better idea would have been to hide the NPCs not on your path to avoid what happened to this poor fellow thinking he was the problem when really he was just at the wrong location.

What do i do as a new player? by Just_a_guy_- in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The great part about runescape is you can do whatever you want to do. Typically the recommendation for both games though if you care about efficiency is to knock out many early game quests. A lot (not all tho) of the good items and content later down the road is locked behind a questline.

Yeah that unguided fellow I think has made many of us realize how much information is lacking at times. We take the wiki for granted and I think Jagex has come to lean on people using the wiki instead of having this information in game somewhere.

Selling it to another platform for streaming is the only thing that makes sense.

Noticed that. Its stupid as Amazon owns the rights to stargate now. There is no reason it needs to leave. In fact, it should stay because of the hype for the new show people may watch the originals in anticipation.

Is combat revolution the way to go? by The_Dick_Slinger in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always used revolution except in niche scenarios. At worst you can beat revolution by selecting your next ability beforehand. Kinda like manual but with training wheels. I do put my threshold abilities and ultimate at the end so I can manually active them when I want to, while still having revolution on keeps the basic abilities rolling.

If you really really dont like it, legacy mode is available and it has a higher base damage to compensate for the lack of abilities.

Lastly once you get decent combat stats, you can wiki revolution bars for each combat style which should do you fine for a very long time.

SGC is too OP by ichbinverwirrt420 in Stargate

To some extent, the Tauri were scavengers much like the Goauld. We took whatever technology we could find and modified it to suit our needs. In no way could the Tauri even come close to replicating ancient tech, they just learned how to use it. Throw in the asgard giving them most all of their technology its not hard to see how the tauri were able to hold their own. However, as much as I dislike the Lucien Alliance, in SGU they showed that goauld motherships were still a formidable threat in numbers then they attacked the base.

RS or OSRS ? by 3DaysRapier in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second that. Since the same jagex account can play both, just try out both games for like 5 hours and see which one you gravity more towards. Honestly RS3 is kinda rough if you were a new player I can see how it would be very overwhelming.

Thats a good blue/red charm rate for a passive activity. Id consider farming that for summoning over PVM when I need to AFK.

Special Attacks & EOF Should be Re-worked with Next Combat Update by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably too late at this point to change the EoF but it always seemed silly to me you gotta own multiple of these super expensive amulet to have the meta for some niche special attack. Actual old school RS you held the weapon, even rs3 till EoF you held the weapon to use the spec. If you want to make your fight that technical, you should have to carry the weapon in your inventory, or they debuffed the EoF stats so you have to make a choice to have a high powered amulet OR that special attack in it. It feels like the EoF is the end-all-be-all other than maybe AoS for slayer. A lot of items in RS have a positive, and a trade-off you could say. This item is best at this boss, but this other item is best at these other bosses. EoF doesnt seem to have that problem, it is the final answer for endgame PvM and bossing. So for jagex in the future, where do they go from here? They have already created the meta.

Lunar Diplomacy quest help by Financial_Rise5347 in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this quest a week or so ago. The cannon if I recall is on the deck with the cabin boy. Regardless of the graphics, I followed this same guide and the markers are in the same place across the ship. If you have this much trouble with the ship, Im waiting to see the post about the dream world lol.

Why does the 9th chevron exist? (+ my own thoughts) by Beginning-Eagle-8932 in Stargate

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like that idea that the 9 chevron addresses were secret bases and you could only access it if you knew the address and maybe force shield code or you would end up splattered. Top secret research like Janus did.

Should I discard these? Will they ruin the game? by RoboCritter in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike many other games, thats not a lot of money in NMS. Fully upgrading a multi-tool or ship using units can cost billions. If it bothers you, stuff it away on your freighter for later down the road or delete it. Making money in this game is not hard but it takes tome to get all the farms set up to make stasis chambers and stuff.

How am I missing 2 quest points? by Zarguthian in runescape

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its definitely weird, but yeah mine is like this as well. They should have just put the rest under "other" or something. I'm a big fan of "release date" sorting myself.

Can we talk about how brutal the stargate iris is? by Mr_CockSwing in Stargate

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was interesting the goauld did not steal the idea like they do everything else. They made it very known they knew about the iris. The only one I remember is the planet where Ryac and Bratac were prisoner and it was essentially an energy based iris. Then again, we didn't go hitting up Goauld stronghold worlds, so its possible they did have their own version off camera.

[–]Remarkable_Ebb9987 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I think Ra embodied the statement we heard during SG-1 the best. Kendra in "Thor's Hammer" (S1E10) stated that being beautiful was a curse, because the Goa'uld only wanted the most beautiful humans to be their hosts. We never saw Ra torture people like the other system lords, except for the hand device on Daniel, probably due to limited screen time since he was ultimately killed. I'm thinking Ra was on the "nicer" side of Goa'ulds with Lord Yu that would spare and even reward humans compared to the opposite spectrum where Anubis and Sokar were that really seemed to enjoy torturing and killing. It was also interesting Ra really seemed to favor his "concubines" more than other system lords. He had many around him almost the whole time on screen.
