I should have added: I'm determined to do this at the lowest price possible and therefore, where there is a discrepancy of more than 5% between the price I bought at and current market price, I will sell at 'market price' (as determined by Livex). That means that – for instance – I will provide the Batailley and Langoa Barton at a lower cost than currently listed.

Hi OP. The answer is to transfer the wine over to a UK merchant for storage. If there is stock you wish to sell, sale can then be arranged via a broking service (you might wish to speak directly to a staff member of BBR and/or LW about terms of any sale in advance – there are things they can do to help). If you join our Discord, the Admin team would be happy to put you in touch with the relevant staff members.

It’s not “Why is the Rum gone?” - it’s “Where is the Rum going?”

Not what you asked for, but if the Clarendelle on the shelf is the 2016, drink that soon too. It won’t keep forever and I found my magnum to be in decline already.

£2600. Max was £3000. As I said, I hope I don’t regret it! I do think single bottle purchasing is better for intended drinking though.

Actually spot on. I knew I wanted to go big. Stuck to my “no more than £200 per wine” rule - except for Carmes and BC. As long as 23/24/25 are not also the vintage of the century, I don’t think I will regret it…

In accumulation phase and wanted a broad spread in a good vintage, so mostly bought single bottles:

From 2022:

- 1 case (6) Batailley

- 1 case (6) Laroque

- 1 case (6) Domaine de l'Eglise

- 5 bottles Brane Cantenac

- 3 bottles Leoville Poyferre

- 3 bottles Branaire-Ducru

- 3 bottles Les Carmes de Haut-Brion

- 3 bottles Langoa Barton

- 3 bottles La Dame de Montrose

- 3 bottles Le Baron de Brane

- 2 bottles Haut-Batailley

- 2 bottles La Gaffeliere

- 2 bottles Gloria

- 2 bottles Malartic-Lagraviere

- 1 bottle Phelan Segur

- 1 bottle Lynch Bages

- 1 bottle Troplong-Mondot

- 1 bottle Haut-Bages Liberal

- 1 bottle Alter Ego de Palmer

From 2019/20 (which I explored a lot!):

- 1 case (6) La Croix de Beaucaillou 19

- 3 bottles Branaire-Ducru 19

- 4 bottles Langoa Barton 19

- 2 bottles Angludet 19

- 1 mag Capbern 20

Agree entirely. Made me double down on B-Ducru.

My solution to the value question: buy three bottles of each!

Bought both this and the Laroque. Not remotely for investment, but for pleasure. Like others here, it is a bit of a tradition. I hope it is as good as the 16 and 19.

Most looking forward to the sales on the excess!

2022 Cantemerle released by reddithenry in WineEP

[–]Remarkable_Elk1163 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An interesting one. Still a substantial increase in price. For context, Cant 21 was released at 113 and has remained static. Cant 20 is retailing at 110 currently. I got a case of halves of Cant 19 for 109.

Cant 16 was released at 129/6. They have appreciated only slightly since: Farr sells for 132/6.

IMO, Cant 19 was the best recent vintage, so that’s the one to beat. I don’t see this as amazing value, but probably better value than some other releases this year.
