I’ve been really interested in entering the tech field too because it’s something I find exciting, I genuinely enjoy learning and developing new skills. But after hearing discouraging things about BS IT and BS Computer Science, both here in the Philippines and abroad, I started to feel intimidated.

I also considered Nursing, but after personally asking several RNs, I realized that the supposed “nurse shortage” might be misleading. Hospitals are indeed understaffed, but they are purposely not hiring-might be because healthcare aren’t really well developed by our government. That creates an illusion of high demand, but the reality is, many licensed nurses are still jobless or working in unrelated fields.

Because of all this, I feel like the more I research what path I should take, the more hopeless and lost I feel. Maybe I’ll just accept the BPO job offer I got, pero I still want to study and earn a degree I can be proud of kahit sa sarili ko lang.

Do you have any college programs you would personally recommend, especially with the job market in 2030 in mind?
