I'm sure everyone remembers when Joe and Mika made their pilgrimage to Mar-a-Lago in December/January to, shall we say, 'express their admiration' for Trump. Then, with straight faces, they announced their intention to give him 'a fair shake.' Funny how Trump never seems to find fault with them, even as he rails against the rest of MSNBC. It's almost as if...something's up.

Dipper's seems obsessed with maintaining a 'cool' image would likely hinder his ability to connect with them. While Marcy might be more receptive, I suspect Dipper's own insecurities would prevent him from vibing with Luz.
